Nghe An has 2 works awarded the 16th National Press Award
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of June 21, the 16th National Press Awards Ceremony - 2021 was held in Hanoi, on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2022).
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia; along with members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, and leaders of news agencies and newspapers.

With a serious, objective and highly responsible spirit, this year's Judging Council selected 115 outstanding journalistic works from 152 finalists to award prizes, including 10 A prizes, 22 B prizes, 48 C prizes, and 35 Encouragement prizes.
This is the 5th consecutive year that the National Press Award has had the participation of all 63 provincial and municipal Journalists Associations, with a high number of submitted works.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his best wishes to journalists at home and abroad on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, and congratulated the 115 authors and groups of authors who were awarded the 16th National Press Award - 2021.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Award attracted thousands of works of many genres, demonstrating the high awareness and responsibility of the press towards the country, and is truly a very important "information bridge" between the Party, the State and the people.

Referring to some of the country's outstanding achievements in 2021, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that these results were achieved thanks to the leadership of the Party, headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the participation of the entire political system, the support of the people, businesses and international friends, and especially the important contributions of press agencies and journalists.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman of the National Press Awards Council, said that continuing the 97-year tradition of revolutionary journalism, the country's press is maintaining its role as an official and legitimate information channel, effectively propagating the correct guidelines and policies of the Party and State, being the voice of the people, and being the bridge between the Party, the State and the people.
At the same time, the press is also strongly transforming itself in the face of rapid changes in technology, changes in the way users receive information, and the fact that readers and audiences are gradually switching to digital platforms.

To continue to be present and even dominate all platforms to fulfill its role and responsibility of information and propaganda, the press has no other way but to transform digitally, integrating into the digital transformation process of the whole society. Today's press must proactively develop new products, change the way of producing content as well as the business model, and improve the quality of the reader experience.
Comrade Le Quoc Minh emphasized that in 2021, the press will continue to promote the country's major political events such as the 13th National Congress of the Party and the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term; implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Congress and implementing the Resolutions of the Party, National Assembly, and Government.

The press reflects the efforts of the Party, the State, the people and enterprises to overcome difficulties, boost production and business, and unblock all investment resources, aiming at the goal of maintaining growth and economic recovery. At the same time, it mentions the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system; the work of fighting against corruption and negativity; the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views; protecting the sovereignty of seas and islands; studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh...
In particular, in the field of topics related to the Covid-19 pandemic, there have been many works that reflect the truth, are emotional, move people's hearts, demonstrate the commitment of reporters, and have a high influence in society.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh said that although the Covid-19 pandemic had a significant impact on journalism activities in 2021, the number of works submitted to the 2021 National Press Awards reached 1,911 works, the second highest level in 16 years of the National Press Awards, showing the influence and attraction of the Awards to journalism activities.
This year, Nghe An Journalists Association won the following awards:

Encouragement Prize: News, reportage, documentary (Television) Work: Upstream stream by group of authors Bui Gia Ly (Gia Ly), Nguyen Thi Thuong (Nguyen Thuong), Nguyen Thi Thao (Phuong Thao), Nguyen Nhu Lanh (Nhu Lanh), Duong Trong Hung (Trong Hung) - Nghe An Radio and Television Station.
