Thanh Chuong farmers "put up mosquito nets" to protect oranges
(Baonghean.vn) - To protect and sustainably promote the brand of Orange Tong Doi, orange growers in Thanh Chuong district are having many solutions to have clean oranges, including "hanging mosquito nets" for oranges.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa in Ha Tinh city said: "We often go to Thanh Duc commune on weekends to buy oranges. The oranges here have thin skin, are sweet and we can eat them directly in the garden."
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa - a garden owner said that her family has more than 5 hectares of oranges, 3 hectares of which have been harvested and 2 hectares of which are newly planted in the second year. Mainly Xa Doai oranges and V2 oranges. Currently, Xa Doai oranges have entered the ripening stage; with 3 hectares, it is expected that this year, about 60 tons will be exported to the market. The current selling price at the garden is 30,000 - 35,000 VND/kg, after deducting expenses, the income is more than 1.5 billion VND.

To encourage people to grow and develop oranges to increase income value per unit area and improve their lives, Thanh Chuong district has also issued a project to develop a number of key crops associated with brands and product consumption in the period of 2016 - 2020, along with large support mechanisms, so it has been agreed and supported by the people. Since the project, the area of newly planted oranges in the district has increased significantly.
To facilitate production, business as well as find outlets for products, with the consent of Thanh Duc district and commune, orange growers established a comprehensive agricultural service cooperative. Since the establishment of the cooperative, production and business activities of members have been more convenient, especially when they have linked together and completed the product labeling procedures.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam - a trader in block 9, Thanh Chuong town said: When we have a product traceability stamp, our business is much more convenient. Customers no longer have to worry about food safety and hygiene like before.
