Regarding school facilities, recently after the incidentcollapsed ceilingAt Hermann Gmeiner High School, the Department of Education and Training has issued a document requesting schools to strengthen solutions to ensure student safety.

In particular, schools are required to proactively coordinate with local professional agencies to inspect and review all existing school facilities, reassess the quality of construction works, and make plans to renovate and repair facilities, tree systems, fences, electrical systems, etc. to ensure safety for students and teachers.

In addition to the achievements, teaching conditions in some schools are still difficult. In the photo: Thai Son Primary School (Do Luong) still has some functional classrooms that are semi-permanent and have deteriorated. Photo: My Ha

In particular, do not put into use facilities and constructions that have expired or are unsafe without being renovated, upgraded, repaired, or newly built. At the same time, strengthen inspection and supervision of high-risk areas such as fires, floods, and landslides in educational facilities, especially dormitories, semi-boarding areas, laboratories, etc.

To improve school facilities, in 2019, the Provincial People's Committee also issued Plan No. 305/KH - UBND on implementing the project to ensure facilities for the Preschool and General Education Program until 2025 in Nghe An province. In particular, the goal is that at the preschool level, each class group will have 1 common room and a toilet. Each school will have 1 room for organizing physical education activities and 1 art classroom.

For the remaining levels, each class has at least one separate classroom. Each school has one physical education room, one art education room, one computer room, one foreign language room, an equipment room, a library and other subject rooms.

According to this plan, the province will invest in building 3,555 new classrooms to replace temporary classrooms, borrowed classrooms or semi-permanent classrooms. In addition, it will invest in building 1,528 more classrooms for additional classes due to the increase in students.

This plan will also implement the construction of more than 7,000 functional classrooms, practice rooms, libraries, kitchens, and warehouses for schools. The total budget for implementing this plan is more than 8,500 billion VND (including the purchase of school equipment). The capital source is from the public investment plan, program and project budgets, social mobilization budget, and other legal sources.
