Nghe An announces list of typical products of OCOP program
(Baonghean.vn) - After more than 1 year of implementing Decision No. 490/QD-TTg dated May 7, 2018 of the Prime Minister, Nghe An has had 48 products achieving 3 stars or more, of which 15 products achieved 4 stars.
On the morning of June 16, Nghe An province held a conference to announce the results and classify provincial OCOP products in 2019. Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Executive Board, Chairman of the Provincial OCOP Product Classification Evaluation Council, chaired the conference.

After more than 1 year of implementing Decision 490/QD-TTg dated May 7, 2018 of the Prime Minister approving the "One Commune One Product" (OCOP) Program for the period 2018-2020, the OCOP Program has become a widespread movement in the whole province and has had many positive changes, with more and more good models and effective methods appearing, contributing to improving the appearance of the countryside.
Up to now, Nghe An has had 48 products achieving 3 stars or more according to the National OCOP Criteria.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu acknowledged and commended the efforts of all levels and sectors, especially the solidarity, unity and consensus of cadres, party members and people of localities.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that sectors and localities continue to resolutely direct the OCOP Program in the locality, considering this a key political task, a breakthrough in building new rural areas in the coming time; strictly follow the OCOP cycle, strengthen review, encourage and guide people and economic entities to participate in the Program, ensuring products with high community spirit and good quality.

At the same time, organize a review and evaluation of the results of the implementation of the OCOP Program in the locality in the recent past, to implement the 2020 implementation plan in a practical and effective manner. Provide guidance to commune-level management staff, district-level professional staff and subjects on the viewpoints, objectives, requirements, contents and tasks of the OCOP Program.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu also requested the program's steering committee to clearly assign responsibilities to monitoring staff, pay special attention to the policy of developing craft villages and rural industries as a basis for developing OCOP products towards community development, perfecting policies and mechanisms to mobilize social resources, and encouraging the application of high technology in production. Check compliance with quality commitments of economic entities after having products achieving OCOP stars.

Commune-level authorities must enhance their role in developing and evaluating OCOP products; At the same time, have specific plans and policies to support products that do not meet OCOP standards but have the potential to promote advantages in terms of soil, landscape, culture and local community.

At the conference, the Program Executive Board recognized and awarded trophies to 15 products with 4-star rating; 33 products with 3-star rating; and launched the emulation movement to implement "One Commune One Product" in the coming period.
