Nghe An: Urgent investigation into the case of a student pick-up vehicle causing death
(Baonghean.vn) - The National Traffic Safety Committee requested that authorities in Nghe An urgently investigate and review transportation companies that specialize in transporting students.
The National Traffic Safety Committee has just issued a document requesting Nghe An province to direct the authorities to urgently investigate and clarify the cause of the accident caused by a school bus that killed a female student in Nghia Hanh commune (Tan Ky) on the morning of November 1.
This agency believes that it is necessary to strictly handle individuals who violated the law and caused this serious traffic accident, especially the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident.

The National Traffic Safety Committee also requested the Nghe An Department of Transport to inspect the compliance with regulations on business and conditions for automobile transportation business for enterprises and individuals who are owners of the automobile involved in the accident; strictly handle violations according to the law if violations are detected. Strengthen management of enterprises and individuals who operate automobile transportation business to ensure traffic safety.
For the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, it is necessary to direct the local Department of Education and Training to review schools using contract cars to transport students, coordinate with the parents' association to work with vehicle owners, require vehicle owners to fully comply with traffic safety regulations for vehicles and drivers, absolutely do not contract to transport students to vehicle owners who do not ensure the conditions for car transportation business; organize inspections, monitor and promptly prevent cases that do not ensure the conditions according to regulations.

In addition, the authorities need to increase patrols, control, detection and strict handling of violations of traffic safety laws. Special attention should be paid to inspecting and handling violations of school buses.
Previously, at around 7am on November 1, a school bus with Laotian license plate UN 6668 of Thang Hue bus company turned from Ho Chi Minh road to Nghia Hanh inter-commune road to pick up passengers. At that time, a female student standing near the car door fell onto the road and was run over by the wheel, killing her. The accident attracted public attention, especially during the implementation of the 2018 Traffic Safety Year with the theme "Traffic safety for children".
