Nghe An province suspends circulation and recalls Mai Thao Moc cosmetic products.
(Baonghean.vn) - Authorities have discovered that Mai Thảo Mộc Nature Cosmetic products do not meet quality standards and are unsafe for users.
On September 25th, the Nghe An Department of Health issued a document to local health departments and cosmetic businesses regarding the suspension of circulation and recall of Mai Thao Moc Nature Cosmetic products.
The document instructs businesses in the area to cease purchasing, selling, and using this cosmetic product. The Health Departments of districts, cities, and towns are responsible for notifying businesses to recall the product.
This move comes after the Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) announced its conclusion that Mai Thao Moc Nature Cosmetic products do not meet quality standards and are unsafe for users.

Mai Thảo Mộc Nature Cosmetic is advertised as being made from 9 natural herbs, brewed according to a traditional Vietnamese herbal remedy, with the claimed benefits of treating acne, reducing inflammation and swelling, tightening pores, fading dark spots and freckles, restoring and regenerating skin, and making skin healthy, smooth, and radiant. On the product packaging, Mai Mai Phương Trading and Service Co., Ltd. asserts that this is an "absolutely safe and gentle product".
Also on the same day, the Nghe An Department of Health sent a document to medical examination and treatment facilities in the area, pharmaceutical businesses, and local health departments regarding the recall of substandard drugs.
Based on the supplementary sampling report for a batch of Clavophynamox 1000 film-coated tablets from the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Drug Testing, it was found that the drug did not meet quality standards regarding the dissolution rate of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.

Therefore, the Drug Administration of Vietnam announces the nationwide recall of Clavophynamox 1000 film-coated tablets (Amoxicillin 875mg, clavulanic acid 125mg), Registration Number: VN-20275-17, Batch Number: K026, Manufacturing Date: 14/01/2018, Expiry Date: 13/01/2020, manufactured by Flamingo Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (India) and imported by Dai Nam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company.
