Nghe An: Welcoming and burying the remains of volunteer soldiers returning from Laos to their homeland
(Baonghean.vn) – On the afternoon of April 19, at the Hung Nguyen District Martyrs' Cemetery, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a ceremony to receive and bury the remains of martyr Nguyen Cong Du, a Vietnamese volunteer soldier who died in the Lao PDR.
Attending the ceremony were Colonel Ha Tan Tien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the leaders of Military Region 2, Military Region 4 and many relatives of martyrs.

Martyr Nguyen Cong Du (1943), hometown Hung Thang commune (Hung Nguyen), enlisted in September 1966, rank of sergeant, position of Deputy Platoon Commander, Unit D6, Northwest Military Region. Martyr sacrificed in Luong Nam Tha area, buried in Cuu Lom mountain range (Lao PDR), heroically sacrificed while performing international duties.

The ceremony to receive and bury the remains of martyr Nguyen Cong Du was carried out with solemn military rites. At the ceremony, the provincial leaders, the Provincial Military Command, local Party committees and authorities, along with relatives and people, offered incense and flowers, respectfully bowing to the heroic sacrifice of the martyrs.

On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his deep gratitude to the officers and soldiers of the Search and Collection Team who did not hesitate to face difficulties and hardships in searching and collecting the remains of martyrs. The sacrifices of the heroic martyrs for the cause of national liberation, national reunification, and noble international duty have made the glorious flag of the Fatherland bright.
The Party Committee, government and people of Nghe An province will forever remember the great contributions of the heroic martyrs, continue to pay attention to and do well the work of "Repaying gratitude", and take care of the material and spiritual lives of families of war invalids, martyrs and policy families.
