Nghe An: Nearly 1.5 billion USD of FDI capital registered to invest in the Southeast Economic Zone
(Baonghean.vn) - The Southeast Economic Zone of Nghe An province was established in 2007 and currently covers an area of nearly 21,000 hectares. Many large domestic and foreign investors have chosen this as an investment destination.

Information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said: Currently, the Southeast Economic Zone has attracted 205 projects, including 32 FDI projects (foreign direct investment) with a total registered capital of 1,496.451 million USD; 163 domestic projects with a total registered capital of 42,819.316 billion VND. Enterprises in the Southeast Economic Zone contribute to the budget over 1,500 billion VND/year.
Infrastructure of the Southeast Economic Zone has been invested synchronously, initially achieving some important results. In particular, the Southeast Economic Zone has attracted two prestigious investors, VSIP and Hemaraj (Thailand), to invest in construction and business of industrial park infrastructure. This is an important premise to attract secondary projects to invest, produce and do business.
The Southeast Economic Zone was established in 2007 according to the Prime Minister's regulations and is located in the Southeast of Nghe An province. After 2 adjustments, this economic zone now has a total area of over 20,776 hectares, including the following communes and wards: Nghi Hop, Nghi Xa, Nghi Long, Nghi Thuan, Nghi Dong, Nghi Hung, Nghi Quang, Nghi Thiet, Nghi Tien, Nghi Yen in Nghi Loc district; Dien Trung, Dien Thinh, Dien An, Dien Loc, Dien Tho, Dien Phu in Dien Chau district; Nghi Tan, Nghi Thuy in Cua Lo town. Hoang Mai Industrial Park and Dong Hoi Industrial Park are located in 4 wards and communes: Quynh Thien, Quynh Loc, Quynh Vinh, Quynh Lap in Hoang Mai town; VSIP Nghe An Industrial, Urban and Service Park is located in Hung Tay commune, Hung Dao commune, Hung Nguyen town, Hung Nguyen district and Hung Chinh commune, Vinh city.
Nghe An Southeast Economic Zone is identified as the international economic and trade center of the North Central region, an important gateway from the Central region, Upper Laos, Northeastern Thailand to the Central region and Vietnam, and a large industrial, tourism, service, and urban center of the North Central region.
In total, Nghe An province has attracted more than 1,100 projects with a total registered investment capital of about 368,293 billion VND, including many large-scale projects that are dynamic, help shift the economic structure and contribute large budget revenue to the province when put into operation.
Many large domestic and foreign corporations and companies have invested in Nghe An, such as: Masan, VSIP, Hoa Sen Group, The Vissai, Vingroup, Muong Thanh, WHA Hemaraj, FLC...
Nghe An has also attracted 31 ODA programs and projects with a total investment of 15,050 billion VND. These projects have been and are continuing to be effectively implemented, contributing to upgrading infrastructure, serving the socio-economic development of the province such as: Restoring the Northern Irrigation System (JICA), Vinh Urban Development (WB)...
