Nghe An: Nearly 32,000 enrollment targets for grade 10

According to Mr. Thai Huy Vinh - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, at the end of the 2017 - 2018 school year, the whole province had 41,549 9th grade students and it is expected that 90% of them will be recognized as graduates with 40,718 students.

However, up to this point, according to the plan of the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2018-2019 school year, the whole province only has 692 public classes with a target of 29,083 students. In addition, it is expected that there will be 66 non-public classes with 2,845 students. Thus, the whole province has nearly 32,000 enrollment targets for grade 10.

Thus, with this number, this year there will be about 8,690 9th grade students who will not continue to study in high school and will instead be transferred to vocational training (over 21%).

According to the schedule, the entrance exam for grade 10 will be held on June 6 and 7 with the following subjects: Math, Literature and a combination of Foreign Languages ​​(English and French) - Biology and Civic Education.

This is the first year Nghe An has applied the combined test with objective test format. Currently, schools have collected applications from all candidates. It is expected that by May 17, the Department of Education and Training will announce the competition ratio of schools based on the quota and number of applications.

This year, according to the policy of the Department of Education and Training, enrollment will be carried out according to the approved quota for the 2018-2019 school year. The number of students admitted is equal to the assigned enrollment quota minus the number of students admitted directly (excluding integration students).

In addition, only students who have participated in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2018-2019 school year, have taken all the required exams, have not violated exam regulations during the entrance exam, and all exams have a score greater than 0 are considered for admission.

The admission score is the sum of the three exam scores calculated according to the coefficient and bonus points for those who are entitled to preferential and incentive policies (if any). The admission council of high schools will base the admission score from high to low until the assigned quota is filled.

In case many candidates have the same score, the average score of the entire 9th grade year of all subjects with average scores will be used to rank from high to low; if there are still cases of equal scores, the difference will be made by the average score of Math and Literature of the 9th grade year.

For schools that register for admission for the 2nd and 3rd choices, schools must reserve 10 to 15% of their quota to enroll for the 2nd and 3rd choices according to the following principles:

- For wish 2: Only consider candidates who have not passed wish 1, the admission score for wish 2 must be at least 2.0 points higher than the admission score for wish 1.

- For wish 3: Only consider candidates who have not passed wish 2, the admission score for wish 3 must be at least 2.0 points higher than the admission score for wish 2.

This year, the whole province has 39 schools that do not enroll NV2 and NV3 students, mainly concentrated in public schools such as Huynh Thuc Khang High School, Dien Chau Nguyen Xuan On High School, Dien Chau High School 2, 3, 4, 5....
