Nghe An: Successful rescue of a girl from a prostitution ring

(Baonghean.vn) - The Criminal Police Force of Con Cuong Police said it had just successfully rescued a girl in Cam Lam commune who was sold by a woman to a prostitution den in Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh province.

According to information provided by the police, on June 24, Vi Thi M (victim's name has been changed), born in 2001 in Cam Lam commune, Con Cuong district, was introduced by her sister-in-law (Mr. M's daughter-in-law) named Ngoc to go to Vinh city to help take care of children for Ms. Nhi's family (Ngoc's relative).

Vi Thi M is providing information to the authorities.

On the afternoon of June 24, M took a bus to Vinh. At first, Nhi called M to ask to get off at Hung Loc gas station to pick her up. Then, she told M to answer a man's phone and told M to get off at Nghi Kim Overpass. A moment later, Nhi called M and told M not to answer that man's phone anymore but to answer Mrs. Lam's phone and told M to go to the bus station so she could come pick her up. Mrs. Lam took M to a coffee shop, then she took all of M's documents and phone, not allowing M to contact anyone, and forced M to do housework.

Mrs. Lam told M that if she worked as a prostitute for a month, she would get 15 million VND. If M refused, she would be sold into prostitution.

While he was distracted, M thought of a way to steal Ms. Lam's husband's phone to text his family and was informed by his family to the Con Cuong District Police.

Using professional measures, Con Cuong District Police coordinated with Cam Xuyen District Police in Ha Tinh Province to successfully rescue Vi Thi M from the house of Phan Thi Lam (born in 1977), residing in Hamlet 7, Cam Minh Commune, Cam Xuyen District, Ha Tinh Province. When the rescue force arrived, Lam's husband had already fled.

On the afternoon of June 26, Con Cuong police brought M. back to her family. The incident is currently being investigated by the authorities.
