(Baonghean.vn) - According to assessments, the consumer market for goods, especially essential goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2022 in Nghe An did not fluctuate much and was relatively stable.

Total retail sales of goods reached about 7,000 billion VND

According to the Department of Industry and Trade,purchasing power of goods during Tetincreased about 30% compared to other months, total retail sales of goods reached about 7,000 billion VND/month.

For food group:The total average rice consumption demand of the whole province is about 16,000 tons/month, during Tet the demand is up to 18,000 tons/month.

The amount of rice currently available at distribution facilities is expected to serve Tet at about 3,000 tons (mainly concentrated at Thanh Nghe Tinh Food Joint Stock Company, BigC supermarket, MM Mega market, Vinmart system, food stores, general stores, markets...), importing about 10,000 tons within 5-7 days. At the same time, in rural areas, people mainly consume self-produced rice, accounting for about 40% of the province's total consumption, with a reserve of about 15,000 tons.

Rice prices are stable due to abundant supply. However, before and after Tet, rice prices increased slightly, focusing on specialty rice and delicious sticky rice. The increase was insignificant due to the abundant supply of locally produced rice and rice from the South.

Specifically: The retail price of delicious rice produced in the province ranges from 10,500-12,000 VND/kg (in districts and towns) and in Vinh City the price is about 11,000-15,000 VND/kg; Jasmine Milk fragrant rice (South) costs from 14,800-15,000 VND/kg, Hanoi sticky rice is 24,300-28,000 VND/kg, Thai sticky rice is 28,200-30,000 VND/kg...

Agricultural products remained stable compared to the previous month, specifically: black sesame grade 1: 50,000 - 55,000 VND/kg,... Particularly for peeled peanuts grade 1 and green beans (peeled) grade 1, there was an increase of about 5,000 VND/kg: 50,000-60,000 VND/kg.

The production output in the province meets about: 38,330 tons (including 19,750 tons of livestock and poultry meat; 18,580 tons of various seafood, about 100,000 poultry eggs).

Livestock and poultry meat: Retail prices increased by about 5,000-10,000 VND/kg compared to the month before Tet (depending on the market).

Live chickens are sold at about 100,000-120,000 VND/kg in districts and towns in the delta; at markets in Vinh City, the price ranges from 130,000-150,000 VND/kg; beef tenderloin prices range from 240,000-270,000 VND/kg, beef shank prices range from 250,000-280,000 VND/kg; pork butt prices have decreased compared to the same period last year and increased slightly by about 10,000-20,000 VND/kg compared to the previous month, specifically retail prices range from 110,000-130,000 VND/kg.

Aquatic and seafood: All kindsseafoodAbundant supply, retail prices remain stable compared to the same period last year (depending on the type), specifically: Grade 1 mackerel has the highest retail price increase, up 50,000 VND/kg, average selling price ranges from 270,000-310,000 VND/kg; Large grass carp, 5kg-7kg/fish, price from 80,000-100,000 VND/kg, medium river shrimp, price from 170,000-200,000 VND/kg...

+Green vegetables, tubers, fruits:

Demand is about 32,000 tons of vegetables, tubers, and fruits of all kinds/month (equivalent to about 10kg/month). The main supply is within the province, local output can meet about: 39,947 tons/month.

The supply of vegetables, tubers and fruits in localities is abundant, keeping prices stable, specifically: Mustard greens 8,000-12,000 VND/kg; Malabar spinach shoots 5,000-10,000 VND/bunch, potato shoots 5,000-8,000 VND/bunch, green squash 15,000-17,000 VND/kg,...

Consumer technology products group:

Total demand (sugar, milk, fish sauce, seasoning powder, MSG, instant noodles; dry food; cooking oil; iodized salt) is estimated at about 9,000 tons/month. Major suppliers such as: Nam Long Company Limited, BigC supermarket, MM Mega market, Vinmart system, supermarket system, general stores, retail, markets...

As Tet approaches, due to high demand from people, the prices of beers with New Year greetings have increased by 5,000-20,000 VND/carton (depending on the brand) compared to the same period last year, specifically: Hanoi canned beer costs about 245,000-260,000 VND/carton, Halida, Huda Gold 270,000-280,000 VND/carton, regular Huda 220,000-230,000 VND/carton, Heiniken 395,000 - 415,000 VND/carton, diameter: Retail prices on the market have increased slightly and fluctuated from 18,000-22,000 VND/kg.

Cooking oil and items such as seasoning powder, salt, and instant noodles have increased in price compared to the same period last year, specifically: Retail price of Tuong An soybean oil: 69,700 VND/1 liter; Simply soybean oil 65,500 VND/1 liter bottle; Neptune oil 62,000 VND/1 liter bottle; Aji-ngon seasoning powder 900g: 81,000 VND/package; Knorr bone marrow seasoning powder 900g: 78,000 VND/package, instant noodles range from: 95,000 - 110,000 VND/box.

Processed food group:

In addition to essential goods serving people's consumption needs, during the Lunar New Year, consumer demand also focuses on traditional goods such as cakes, jams, candies, soft drinks, etc. About 400 tons of cakes, jams, and candies of all kinds were consumed during the Tet holiday. The main sources of goods are from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

Some types of cakes, jams, candies, wine and high-end beer are imported by businesses, accounting for about 10-15% of the total quantity of goods consumed during Tet. Supermarkets and specialized stores on the streets are where these items are sold.

Flowers and ornamental plants for Tet:

This year's Tet, the types of ornamental plants are very diverse and abundant, from small to medium and large with many different prices, from 200,000-500,000 VND/pot (small for table), to 600,000-800,000 VND/pot to millions of VND. The selling prices of specific types of flowers and ornamental plants are as follows: Chrysanthemums: 100,000 VND/dozen; lilies 60,000 - 80,000 VND/branch, flowers, and kumquat trees for table are priced from 300,000-800,000 VND/pot...

Near Tet, fruit prices increased by 20 - 30% compared to the same period last year, a significant increase compared to normal; specifically, bananas for incense were priced from 150,000 - 300,000 VND/bunch, grapefruits from 40,000 - 50,000 VND/kg. However, from the 3rd day of Tet, these items decreased slightly, specifically, bananas for incense were priced from 100,000 - 150,000 VND/bunch, grapefruits from 30,000 - 40,000 VND/kg.

Ensuring supply of goods for Tet

Mr. Cao Minh Tu - Deputy DirectorDepartment of Industry and Tradesaid: Entering the peak of the year-end market program, supermarkets, shopping malls, businesses trading and distributing goods in the province have deployed to ensure the source of goods for the 2022 Lunar New Year, proactively researching the market, developing production plans, and reasonably and promptly reserving goods to meet market demand during peak times, avoiding shortages, price hikes or backlogs of goods after Tet and ensuring epidemic prevention work.

In general, this year, during the Lunar New Year, the market for flowers and ornamental plants is rich and diverse, the selling price remains stable compared to the same period last year and increases by about 10-30% compared to normal days. Basic food groups have not fluctuated much compared to the same period last year, pork prices have decreased compared to the same period last year from 20,000 - 30,000 VND/kg, technological products have increased by 10-30% compared to the same period, there is no phenomenon of fever or sudden price increase.

After Tet, many production facilities and traders take a break, so supply is more limited, thus prices increase compared to normal.

In particular, worship items and New Year offerings such as flowers, fruits, areca nuts and betel nuts have increased in price. Areca nuts are 20,000-30,000 VND/fruit, chrysanthemums are 10,000 VND/flower...
