Nghe An: Rare pair of twins born in amniotic sac

At 2:20 p.m. on January 26, the obstetrics team led by Dr. Nguyen Khanh Tram was completely surprised when the baby girl in the twin birth of mother Dam Thi Ha was born with the amniotic sac still intact.

When the second baby girl was born, the doctors carefully cut the amniotic sac to remove the baby to avoid suffocation and cut the umbilical cord.

It is rare for a baby's temporary "home" to be intact at birth, because normally the amniotic sac will rupture under the influence of uterine contractions during the mother's labor or when exposed to a scalpel.

Pregnant woman Dam Thi Ha (32 years old, Lac Son, Do Luong) - mother of 2 newborn twins said that this is her third pregnancy. When she found out she was pregnant with twins, she and her family were very surprised and happy.

“And luckily, on the day of delivery, the two baby girls, both weighing 2.6kg, were safely delivered by cesarean section. Since the day the babies were born, the family has not only received congratulations from the hospital medical team, but the babies have also received many congratulations from the parents around them,” Ms. Ha happily shared.

According to folk belief, being born in an amniotic sac is a sign of good luck. These special children will always be protected and sheltered by fate throughout their lives, just like the amniotic sac that covered them during pregnancy.

In terms of obstetrics, when the fetus is "carried out by cesarean section", it is protected throughout the surgery and is not traumatized.
