(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An requires authorities to guide people in tracing the origin of peaches, ensuring that no administrative procedures arise, causing congestion in the consumption of legal forest products by people.

Department of Agriculture and Rural DevelopmentNghe An province has just issued an official dispatch on strengthening forest management and protection and implementing management and traceability of peach trees for the 2021 Lunar New Year.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requests the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns; the Forestry Sub-Department and forest owners in the province to implement the following contents:

1. Request the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to strictly implement Directive No. 45/CT-TTg dated December 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister; Directive No. 152/CT-BNN-VP dated January 11, 2021 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Directive No. 01/CT-UBND dated January 8, 2021 of the Provincial People's Committee; direct local authorities to guide people in exploiting and transporting peach trees, apricot trees and some other plants outside the area of ​​protective forests, special-use forests and natural forests planted by organizations, households and individuals with their own capital in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Official Dispatch No. 356/BNN-TCLN dated January 18, 2021.

2. RequirementsForestry DepartmentDirect the District Forest Protection Department to regularly monitor the area, advise local authorities to strengthen inspection and supervision of forest management and protection at the root; propagate, disseminate, and guide people to properly perform the work of tracing and determining the origin of peach trees, apricot trees, and some other forestry trees in accordance with the provisions of law, not to take advantage of illegal cutting of forest trees, but must ensure that no administrative procedures arise, causing congestion in the consumption of legal forest products of people in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Official Dispatch No. 356/BNN-TCLN dated January 18, 2021.

3. Require forest owners in the province to strengthen patrolling and inspection of the forest areas assigned for management; coordinate well with local authorities at all levels, relevant departments and branches to strictly implement the provisions of forestry law.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requests the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to pay attention to directing and reflecting on any problems and difficulties (if any) during the implementation process to have timely solutions for the people.

Previously, on January 18, 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Official Dispatch No. 356/BNN-TCLN on strengthening forest protection and management, tracing the origin of peach trees planted by people on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2021. The content of the dispatch clearly stated: The exploitation of peach trees and some trees planted outside the area of ​​​​protected forests, special-use forests and natural forests planted by organizations, households and individuals with their own capital is decided by the forest owner according to the provisions of law.

In this document, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also requested that the People's Committees of provinces, depending on the specific conditions of the locality, in the immediate future, can apply appropriate measures to confirm the origin and source, but not create additional administrative procedures, blocking the production and consumption of legal products.

In the border area of ​​Nghe An province, mountain peach trees (also known as stone peach, Mong peach, forest peach, moldy peach, etc.) are grown a lot by local people in communes of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Que Phong districts. These include communes such as Tri Le (Que Phong), Muong Long, Tay Son, Na Ngoi (Ky Son)... Peach trees bring high income to growers, through cutting branches to sell during Tet and harvesting fruit. Therefore, in some border communes with suitable climate and soil conditions, people growing peach trees receive financial support from the State budget.
