Explaining the reason for the low rate of people being vaccinated, the leader of the Department of Health said that due to the recent situation of a general shortage of vaccine supply, priority is being given to distributing it to some large epidemic areas in the country; while in Nghe An, because it is one of the localities with good basic epidemic prevention and control, the vaccine arrived later.
In the near future, more vaccines will be distributed to Nghe An. Currently, the province has been allocated another 55,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine; and will later receive an additional 30,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine.
Regarding the direction for the last 6 months of 2021, the Deputy Director of the Department of Health assessed that there are 2 sources of Covid-19 infection in Nghe An; that is, from inside (currently basically controlled) and from outside due to population fluctuations from epidemic areas; therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to effective prevention and control of the epidemic from outside.
Accordingly, the strategic perspective of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic continues to be considered a long-term battle; the motto is to effectively implement: 5K + vaccine. In particular, in the coming period, it is necessary to strengthen communication work closely linked to practice to continue mobilizing the entire population to participate; consolidate the epidemic prevention and control network, especially the community Covid Teams.
