Nghe An has no 'no-go zones' in the fight against smuggling and trade fraud
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 15, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 held a working session to review the results of anti-smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods activities in 2020 and deploy tasks for 2021.

In 2020, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 proactively developed and issued many plans and official dispatches directing the synchronous implementation of many flexible solutions to strengthen prevention and control.smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. In the province, essential goods meet the needs of the people. In particular, the authorities have promptly corrected the situation of speculation, hoarding, and price increases of items serving the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic such as medical masks, hand sanitizers, food, etc.
In the first 11 months of 2020, the authorities inspected and handled 7,372 administrative violations; prosecuted 336 cases/453 subjects. The total value of fines collected was more than 196 billion VND.

After listening to the delegates' opinions on the current difficulties in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, concluding the meeting, in addition to acknowledging and praising the results achieved in the past time, comrade Le Hong Vinh also stated: Although there has been a decrease compared to the previous year, smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods activities in 2020 still have many potential complex developments.

Establish interdisciplinary inspection teams; clearly define the responsibilities of leaders as well as the tasks of sectors, forces, organizations and local authorities in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
In particular, strengthen political and ideological education, tighten discipline, thoroughly grasp the viewpoint that there is no"forbidden zone", resolutely handle sectors and localities that allow smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods to occur in a complicated, serious and prolonged manner in the areas and fields assigned to their management.

The functional forces and local authorities, based on the practical struggles in the past time, continue to review the remaining shortcomings in the policy mechanisms in the assigned fields and areas of management, report to the Provincial People's Committee to propose to the Government, ministries and branches to consider amending, supplementing, and perfecting, ensuring consistency and synchronization.
During the working session this afternoon, delegates also gave their opinions on the draft Plan for the peak period against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2021.
