According to information from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, following the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, on November 7, immediately after receiving information that people were dumping pig carcasses into canals, ditches, and streams on the canal section through Yen Thanh district, the Department coordinated with the Department of Veterinary Medicine of Region III to inspect the canal system from the source (bordering Do Luong district) flowing through the communes of Yen Thanh district.

At the same time, the District People's CommitteeYen ThanhRequest the community to join hands to detect and report to local authorities through the hotline of the People's Committees of communes and towns cases of dumping animal carcasses into the environment, canals and ditches; direct the People's Committees of communes to regularly inspect and destroy animal carcasses when they are discovered. Strictly handle cases of dumping animal carcasses into the environment, selling sick and dead animals, and intentionally spreading diseases.

In the coming time, Nghe An will allocate all resources to drastically implement prevention solutions, not allowing the epidemic to spread, linger and cause new outbreaks. Establish control points on main roads, disinfect vehicles, and control the transportation of animals and animal products susceptible to African swine fever in and out of epidemic areas.

For areas where the epidemic has not yet occurred, continue to organize vaccination for livestock and poultry in the autumn crop of 2023 to ensure a rate of over 80% of the total herd. Proactively monitor diseases in livestock to detect early, warn and handle thoroughly when new epidemics arise; promptly and fully report the epidemic situation from the grassroots to the commune, district and provincial levels in accordance with regulations.

Up to now, the epidemic situation in some localities has been controlled: Dien Chau district had 10 communes infected with the epidemic at the end of October, but now it has decreased to 7 communes with the epidemic; Quy Hop district is being controlled in 2 communes, Chau Quang and Dong Hop; Yen Thanh district has 13 communes. However, the epidemic only occurs in small-scale farming households, the number of pigs that have to be destroyed has not increased much./.
