Nghe An inspects and reviews localities planting early spring crops

(Baonghean.vn) - On January 21, 2017, a working delegation of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development inspected the spring crop production situation in some localities.

Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province and the working group inspected the water level at Do Luong Ba Ra dam.

The working group inspected the water level at the Do Luong Ba Ra Dam, which irrigates 4 key rice districts: Yen Thanh, Do Luong, Quynh Luu, and Dien Chau. According to the report of the Bac Irrigation Company Limited, the current water level at the Do Luong Ba Ra Dam is 27 cm higher than the design level, meeting the irrigation needs of 4 key districts. The Do Luong Ba Ra Station assigned 12 staff members to operate day and night, preventing any of the 12 spillways from being blocked.

Do Luong district has restructured 7,800 hectares of spring rice, currently more than 2,000 hectares have been planted with phase 1, about 7 days ahead of schedule, more than 90 hectares of seedlings are covered with plastic to ensure safety. It is expected that by the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, phase 2 will be planted to ensure the schedule.

Checking in Anh Son district, this locality basically followed the crop schedule. This spring crop, the district planted 3,300 hectares, currently more than 64 hectares of seedlings have been sown, 100% covered with plastic; planted tea 1 on more than 700 hectares, expected to plant tea 2 on the 4th day of Tet. Anh Son Irrigation Company Limited - One Member Limited Liability Company has enough water source for dams, electric pumps to plant rice.

The delegation also visited some livestock models in Tuong Son commune and a clean orange growing model using organic fertilizers in Khai Son commune.

The working group inspected the clean orange model fertilized with organic fertilizer and intercropped with tea in Khai Son commune (Anh Son).

After checking the production situation, Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requested localities to closely monitor weather developments to have timely solutions in the work of preventing cold for crops and livestock; strengthen inspection and control of the market of fertilizers and pesticides; propagate people to use irrigation water economically and effectively; localities need to produce in accordance with the agricultural calendar and seed structure of the agricultural sector.

Working group inspects cattle breeding model in Tuong Son commune, Anh Son

In the spring crop of 2017, Nghe An planted more than 86,000 hectares of rice. Currently, some districts have planted rice ahead of schedule such as Yen Thanh, Dien Chau... The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is continuing to establish 3 inspection teams across the province, reviewing the above areas.

The agricultural sector directs its departments and affiliated units to coordinate with the media to develop programs to guide and advise farmers to properly implement intensive technical measures, overcome natural disasters, and prevent pests and diseases as recommended by specialized agencies.
