(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An has completed the collection, updating, editing, and checking of population information with more than 3.6 million ballots, being one of three localities in the country to complete the collection of population data into the national database earlier than the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security.

On the morning of April 23, the Government held a national online conference to summarize the overall project of simplification.administrative procedures, citizen papers and databases related to population management for the period 2013-2020. The conference was chaired by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Head of Steering Committee 896.

57/57 tasks of the project have been completed.

According to the report of the Ministry of Public Security, although some tasks are being implemented behind schedule, overall, up to now, 57/57 (100%) of the tasks of Project 896 have been completed, the implementation of the project has achieved many important results, leaving outstanding marks, especially the task of building a national database on population and the task of reviewing and simplifying administrative procedures related to citizen papers.

The Ministry of Public Security has issued specific procedures and regulations, associated with the responsibility of each level of police to "go to every alley, knock on every door, check every case" to update and supplement information, ensuring that resident information is "correct, complete, clean, and alive" before being entered into the database. As of March 5, 2021, the total number of permanent residents nationwide was 98,736,106 people, of which 86,603,192 DC01 ballots were collected from 59/63 localities.

To implement Project 896, Nghe An provincial leaders have directed departments, branches, sectors, and People's Committees at all levels to synchronously and resolutely implement and complete the assigned tasks.

In particular, as the standing unit of the Steering Committee of Project 896, Nghe An Provincial Police has proactively and actively advised the Provincial People's Committee to direct and implement many effective measures in the work. Specifically, currently many units and localities have not proactively prepared technical infrastructure to ensure readiness to connect with the national population database; the construction of specialized databases is focusing on separate professional management, construction is done as much as there is funding, lacking synchronization, and has not considered connecting and sharing with other units in need...

Based on the opinions of representatives of ministries, branches and localities, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Head of Steering Committee 896, concluded the conference. Accordingly, he acknowledged the efforts of ministries, branches and localities in implementing the project, and affirmed that the results of Project 896 have created a foundation to improve the effectiveness of population management in a modern direction, implement administrative reform plans, build and develop e-Government, towards digital Government, digital economy, digital society.

The First Deputy Prime Minister said that although Project 896 has completed the goals and requirements set out in the 2013-2020 period. However, these results are only fundamental, many tasks need to continue to be promoted in the coming time. That is: Resolutely organize and complete the simplification of administrative procedures and citizen papers related to population management in all areas of state management. Connect the national population database with specialized databases; effectively exploit and use the national population database to serve the construction of e-Government, towards digital Government, digital economy, digital society. Maintain and ensure the regular operation of the national population database, especially the addition and updating of population information, ensuring that the information is "correct, sufficient, clean, and alive".

To effectively carry out the above tasks, it is necessary to have the synchronous coordination of ministries, branches and localities. In particular, the Ministry of Public Security continues to accelerate the progress of completing the national population database, regularly maintaining the addition and updating of population information, ensuring that the information is "correct, sufficient, clean, and alive", ready to connect and share with ministries and branches to serve the construction of e-Government; complete the issuance of 50 million citizen identification cards with electronic chips before July 1, 2021.
