(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of the second day of Tet, at some markets in Nghe An, there were quite a lot of foods for sale. However, the amount of goods consumed was slow and prices were stable, only fresh seafood prices increased sharply.

Ms. Phan Thi Trinh, a beef shop owner in Trung Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, said that on the morning of the second day of Tet, she slaughtered a cow and got 130 kg of meat. While in previous years, at this time, there were quite a lot of customers buying meat, this year the number of customers has decreased significantly, even though the price of meat is lower than the days before Tet. Currently, the price of beef is from 220,000 - 240,000 VND/kg.
"Most of the meat sold was ordered by restaurants, while people bought it for personal use only and are worried that it will be difficult to sell all of it today," Ms. Trinh shared.

Ms. Anh said that early in the morning of the second day of Tet, her husband and she slaughtered an 80 kg pig, but by noon they had only sold half of the meat. The price of pork on the first day of the year fluctuated from 120,000 - 150,000 VND/kg, the same as the days before Tet.
Although there are not many sellers of all kinds of green vegetables, the prices are very cheap. Ms. Lan, a vegetable vendor in the Roc market area, said that all kinds of vegetables are as cheap as before Tet. Unlike previous years, after Tet, green vegetables often have high prices, but this year the price of chrysanthemums is only 2,000 VND/bunch, celery 5,000 VND/bunch, cabbage 3,000 VND/head...

While in Yen Thanh, food prices remained stable as before Tet, in Quynh Luu, purchasing power was higher, prices increased slightly. On the morning of the 2nd, at the Giat crossroads market, vendors had been selling food and vegetables very early. According to the reporter, food prices increased slightly compared to before Tet.
Specifically, grade 1 beef, before Tet was 280,000 VND/kg, increased by 5,000 VND/kg on the second day of Tet; grade 1 pork is currently priced at 180,000 VND/kg (an increase of 10,000 VND/kg compared to before Tet). For green vegetables, purchasing power has increased due to people's demand.

Seafood prices increase sharply
The item with the strongest price increase in the first market session of the year isseafoodFresh. Specifically, anchovy fish before Tet cost 80 - 100 thousand VND/kg, now it is 170 - 200 thousand VND/kg; shrimp before Tet cost 150 thousand VND/kg, now it is 300 thousand VND/kg; snails cost 130 thousand VND, now it is 170 thousand VND/kg; squid cost 200 - 250 thousand VND/kg... Most items have their prices increased 2-3 times.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - a seafood seller said: The reason why seafood prices are higher than before Tet is because people eat mainly meat-based foods during Tet; after Tet, most people choose to buy seafood, while fishing boats have not yet set sail, so prices are pushed up.
