(Baonghean.vn) - Due to a conflict while playing, a 5th grade student brought a knife to school to threaten and accidentally injured a classmate. The parents of the students also sat down and sympathized with each other.

On the morning of April 3, Ms. Le Thi Bac - Principal of Cua Nam 1 Primary School, Cua Nam Ward, Vinh City, said that at the school, an incident had just occurred in which a 5th grade student was stabbed in the buttocks.

After the incident, the school invited all students, parents, and the parents' association to a meeting to determine the cause and handle the incident. At the same time, the school also sent a report to the Vinh City Department of Education and Training.

"This is a very unfortunate incident. The school did not conceal the information but hopes to share it," Ms. Bac said, adding that this afternoon the school will hold a disciplinary meeting to decide on how to handle the students, with the aim of ensuring both deterrence and education so that the students have the opportunity to correct their mistakes.

According to the minutes of the meeting, at around 7am on April 2, before school started, a conflict broke out between four male students in grade 5. At this time, NQL (student in grade 5D) suddenly took out a switchblade to threaten, unfortunately the blade hit LTK (student in grade 5E) in the buttocks. Seeing his friend bleeding, many students panicked and called the teacher to stop him.

K. was taken to the school’s medical room for first aid, then transferred to the hospital to treat his wound. “K. was stabbed once in the buttocks and then received two stitches. This morning, K.’s parents asked for permission for him to stay home from school to clean his wound,” said Ms. Bac.

Regarding the cause of the incident, according to Ms. Bac, last Friday (March 29), a group of male students were playing soccer in the school yard. Unfortunately, the ball fell on student B., causing the phone he was holding to break. Student B. asked student K. to apologize and pay compensation, but was not satisfied.

B. and K. argued, and a conflict arose. Defending B. on the morning of April 2, L. brought a switchblade to school to threaten her friend, and the above incident occurred. "L. said that she brought the knife to school just to threaten her, but during the struggle, the blade accidentally stabbed her friend in the buttocks," said Ms. Bac.

According to the principal, all four students were partly at fault in this incident. Firstly, the school had clearly stated that soccer was not allowed in the school. Secondly, when the incident occurred, the students did not report it to the homeroom teacher but resolved it among themselves. Thirdly, the students used their phones incorrectly.

At the meeting, the parents of the four students all said that it was wrong for them to fight and injure their friend. The parents of L. and L. directly apologized to K. for their actions. K.'s parents said: The children are still young so they should forgive each other and accept the apologies of the parents and the children.
