Nghe An: Unusually heavy rain, traffic disruption, some places isolated

InQuy Chau district, 9 spillways in localities such as Chau Thang, Chau Tien, Chau Hoi, Chau Phong, Tan Lac town have high water levels, spillways are deeply flooded, causing traffic disruption, affecting people's travel.
Mr. Sam Van Hung - Chairman of Chau Thang Commune People's Committee (Quy Chau) said: "Chau Thang spillway bridge over Hieu River is deeply flooded, causing 4 villages with more than 500 households of the commune to be completely isolated. Currently, the locality is sending people to stand guard, set up barriers to warn of danger, and instruct people not to cross the spillway when the water is rising."

LIVECinnamon,Heavy rains caused landslides on Highway 48, Dong Van - Thong Thu road, section H2.158 and H3.158, with a length of 50m; landslides on the inter-commune road, Muong Dan - Nam Giai road, and swept away 2 bridges for local people on the village road. Currently, the district has sent forces to fix the landslides and has posted warning signs to guide people to participate in traffic safely.
In Thong Thu commune alone, landslides occurred along National Highway 48 to Thong Thu Border Gate, collapsing the surrounding wall and flooding crops of some households in Muong Piet and Muong Phu villages, Thong Thu commune. To help people quickly overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives, Thong Thu Border Guard Station sent forces to the area, coordinated with local authorities to support families in overcoming the damage, clearing landslides, collecting belongings, and soon stabilizing their lives.

Continuous heavy rain caused more than 100m of road in Thanh My commune (Thanh Chuong) to be eroded and filled with rocks and soil. Local authorities had to send forces to be on duty at night; taking advantage of the clear weather, they mobilized local forces to level and clear the landslide rocks and soil to ensure traffic safety.
According to statistics, heavy rain caused 3 temporary houses to collapse completely (Quy Chau: 1 house, Que Phong: 2 houses); 1 house in Que Phong was severely damaged; 8 houses in Que Phong district were slightly affected by landslides. Heavy rain caused 1 motorbike and 42 water wheels in Que Phong district to be swept away.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Thanh - Chief of Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control said: "Currently,The weather is still complicated.In mountainous areas, it continues to rain and rain heavily. The People's Committees of districts are requested to urgently implement the following contents: Mobilize local resources to support and overcome the consequences of natural disasters; Organize inspection, damage assessment, synthesis and propose to competent authorities for support according to current regulations".
