Nghe An: In 2021, industrial production index increased by more than 16%

According to the report ofDepartment of Industry and TradeIn 2021, the industrial production index increased by 16.01% compared to 2020, of which: Production and distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning increased by 27.95%; Processing and manufacturing industry increased by 15.69%; mining industry increased by 14.73%; water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment activities decreased by 1.83%.

Someindustrial productsincreased compared to 2020 such as: Hoa Sen steel and iron of all kinds estimated at 1,215 thousand tons, up 39.72%, exceeding 73.57% of the plan; processed milk 278.3 million liters, up 8.82%, reaching 93% of the plan; Cement estimated at 8.97 million tons, up 21.84%, exceeding 9.39% of the plan; textile clothing estimated at 70.0 million pieces, up 63.15%, exceeding 40% of the plan;...

Some factories that came into operation during the year had a positive impact on growth such as: Tan Thang Cement Factory, electronic components factory of Luxshare ICT Nghe An Co., Ltd., biomass pellet factory (Biomass, DKC), garment factory (An Nam Matsuaka, Nam Thuan, TAAD, Hanosimex Nghi Lam...), liquid sugar factory, leather shoe factory (Dinh Vang), fishing rod factory (Great Longview).

However, some products decreased compared to 2020: Beer of all kinds 120.2 million liters, down 3.24%, reaching 66.6% of the plan; sugar 93,958 thousand tons, down 13.06%, reaching 71.18% of the plan...

In 2021, the production and business activities of industrial enterprises in the area were severely affected by the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic. Enterprises mainly focused on prioritizing the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, closely coordinating with local authorities and functional agencies to strictly implement measures to ensure safety for workers. Many enterprises had to adjust their production scale, implement "03 on-site" production, "01 route 02 destinations" or had to temporarily suspend operations (at the peak, 32 enterprises had to temporarily suspend operations and nearly 16,000 people, accounting for 50% of workers in economic zones and industrial parks, had to temporarily stop working).

Mr. Pham Van Hoa - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: Currently, the Covid-19 epidemic situation has been basically controlled, many businesses have returned to normal production activities, accordingly, workers have also returned to work. However, production activities are still facing certain difficulties due to high costs of raw materials, gasoline prices, transportation costs, input costs, etc., causing product prices to increase.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade is continuing to advise and deploy solutions and tasks to support businesses and workers who have made efforts to overcome the very difficult period due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic to restore production in the industrial production area according to Directive 27/CT-TTg dated October 3, 2021 of the Prime Minister.
