Nghe An: Improving quality management, deploying 3-5 more smart hospitals

Over the past 2 years, due to the prolonged and complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic,hospitalPublic and private health centers with beds have focused their efforts on epidemic prevention. This has affected hospital quality management activities in many units.

Specifically, quality improvement activities have not been effective. The development of treatment regimens and technical procedures at many units is not updated and not suitable to the actual situation. Information technology infrastructure at medical examination and treatment facilities is not guaranteed and not synchronous. In testing, a quality management system according to national standards has not been established.

The quality of human resources and infection control equipment is lacking in quantity and poor in quality. Many units have not met the requirements for nutrition and dietetics as prescribed; have not yet established separate neonatal units/departments with adequate facilities, equipment, and human resources in the hospital... The implementation of patient satisfaction surveys in many units is not substantial, is perfunctory, and focuses on achievements.

At the conference, Nghe An Health sector seriously re-evaluated the quality management work.hospital; focus on discussing and sharing good and effective practices in units in each field; at the same time deploy key tasks and solutions in the coming time.

Concluding the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of Nghe An Department of Health stated: Quality Management activitieshospitalAlthough it does not take much time and effort, this is the difference to raise the level and enhance the brand reputation of hospitals and medical centers. Public and non-public hospitals and medical centers with beds must really focus on implementing hospital quality management activities; must build a strong enough apparatus and human resources; develop an operational plan with specific goals; ensure resources for implementation.

In the coming time, units need to review and consolidate the network, prioritize funding for hospital quality improvement activities; pay attention to training and strengthen infection control; establish nutrition departments and units; establish a nutrition network in the hospital with the participation of clinical departments and related units; have doctors prescribe daily nutritional regimens appropriate to nutritional status and pathology...

Units also need to accelerate the implementation of approved important projects; strengthen the direction of the line, transfer technical services to the lower level; continue to strengthen the implementation of activities to build Green - Clean - Beautiful medical facilities; deploy 3-5 more smart hospitals in the province's hospital network.
