(Baonghean.vn) - While digging for a road, people discovered a bomb more than 1 meter long deep underground.

On the morning of October 26, Mr. Doan Van Huan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghia Mai commune (Nghia Dan district) said that while local people were building a road to exploit acacia, they discovered an unexploded bomb in Cao village (Hamlet 1, Nghia Mai commune).

Accordingly, on the afternoon of October 24, people digging for a road encountered a bomb deep underground and reported it to the authorities. Military forces then arrived to continue digging and cordoning off the area, determining that the bomb was 1.3m long and 0.5m in diameter.

"Currently, the military force is still working to prepare to detonate the bomb at 2:00 p.m. on October 26," Mr. Huan said, adding that the commune has also widely announced, asking people in the area and surrounding areas not to approach the area where the bomb was discovered during that time.
