According to epidemiological investigation, on June 10, this patient had contact with a female nurse from Nghe An Mental Hospital. On June 18, after the female nurse was confirmed to have Covid-19, he was taken to centralized quarantine as an F1 case. During the centralized quarantine period, he was tested 3 times and all 3 results were negative for Covid-19.

On July 1, 21 days after coming into contact with the patient, he was given a certificate of completion of centralized quarantine and returned to his locality. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Le Loi Ward then signed a decision requiring this person to continue home quarantine for another 7 days as prescribed.

However, on the first day of home quarantine, he did not comply by leaving home to go to the supermarket. On July 4, he had symptoms of fever and sore throat. The test results later showed that he was positive for Covid-19. Currently, the apartment building where the patient lives has also been locked down.
