Nghe An: Deputy Director of Provincial Police Department as Head of Steering Committee for Propaganda, Combat, and Handling of Law Violations Related to Wildlife
The Provincial People's Committee has just established a Steering Committee to step up propaganda, combat and handle violations of the law from now until the end of December 2025 to contribute to protecting wildlife and aquatic resources.
On November 5, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 3490/QD-UBND to establish a Steering Committee and a Working Group to organize propaganda, combat, and handle violations of the law related to the protection of wild animals and aquatic resources.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Thanh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police - Head of the Provincial Police Investigation Agency was assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to be the Head of the Committee; Mr. Nguyen Danh Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, was assigned as the Standing Deputy Head of the Committee;
Steering Committee members include leaders of the Economic Police Department, Provincial Police; leadersForestry Departmentand the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance, are units under the Department of Agriculture and Environment.
The task of the Steering Committee is to direct the organization and implementation of propaganda, combat and handling work to contribute to preventing violations of the law related to the protection of wild animals and aquatic resources in Nghe An province.
The working group is responsible for assisting the Steering Committee in assigning specific responsibilities between the Provincial Police, the Department of Agriculture and Environment and relevant departments and branches, ensuring compliance with the principles and professional requirements of each branch; establishing a unified inter-branch coordination mechanism from the provincial level to the wards and communes to share information promptly and accurately, especially in serious cases.
Act as a focal point to synthesize and advise the Steering Committee on implementing solutions in propaganda, combating and handling violations of laws related to the protection of wildlife and aquatic resources in Nghe An province. Timely advise, guide, urge, inspect and remove difficulties and obstacles in the process of organization and implementation.
On the same day, November 5, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 937/KH-UBND to organize propaganda, combat, handle, and contribute to preventing violations of the law related to the protection of wild animals and aquatic resources in Nghe An province.
The purpose of Plan No. 937/KH-UBND is to strictly implement the Prime Minister's direction in Directives No. 29/CT-TTg dated July 23, 2020, Directive No. 04/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2022, Directive No. 01/1998/CT-TTg dated January 2, 1998, Directive No. 19/CT-TTg dated July 30, 2014 and effectively organize the implementation of the Government's national projects and programs to contribute to biodiversity conservation, protect rare and precious wildlife species, focusing on the conservation of wild and migratory birds and the protection of aquatic resources.
Effectively carry out the work of managing, propagating, inspecting, and handling violations of laws related to the protection of wild animals and combating and strictly and thoroughly handling criminal organizations, hotspots, lines, and networks of wildlife trafficking, hunting, trapping, and capturing wild and migratory birds; and acts of using banned chemicals, toxic substances, explosives, electric pulses, electric currents, and destructive fishing gear to exploit aquatic resources.
Raise public awareness of wildlife management and protection, and aquatic resources protection; promote the spirit of fighting against illegal wildlife trade and hunting, especially for endangered, precious, and rare species, and actively respond to the movement "No hunting - No consumption - Protect wildlife, migratory birds, protect aquatic resources".
Plan No. 937/KH-UBND will be implemented in 2 months, from November 2025 to the end of December 2025.
Previously, on October 17, 2025, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment issued Plan No. 628/KH-BCA-BNN&MT on coordinating propaganda, combating and handling to contribute to preventing violations of laws related to the protection of wildlife and aquatic resources in Vietnam.
