(Baonghean.vn) - The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Nghe An province called on agencies and functional units to be ready to respond to all situations of storm No. 2.

On the afternoon of August 1, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Nghe An province issued telegram No. 07 announcing the situation of storm No. 2 and response measures.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 02:00 on July 31, the center of the storm near the East Sea (international name Nida) was at about 16.9 degrees North latitude; 123.9 degrees East longitude, about 200km east of Lu Dong island. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 9, gusting to level 10-11.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the storm will move northwest at about 20km per hour and continue to strengthen. At 1:00 a.m. on August 1, the center of the storm was at about 19.6 degrees North latitude; 120.1 degrees East longitude, in the sea area north of Lu Dong island. The strongest wind near the center of the storm is level 12, gusting to level 14-15. Due to the influence of the storm, from the morning of August 1, the sea area in the northeast of the East Sea will have strong winds of level 8-10, the area near the center of the storm will have winds of level 11-13, gusting to level 15-16, and the sea will be very rough.

To proactively cope with the storm's developments, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of districts and towns; the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Border Guard Command; the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of provincial departments, branches and sectors to direct the implementation of the following tasks: Coastal districts and towns must notify owners of vehicles operating at sea of ​​the location and developments of the storm to proactively adjust production plans and appropriate preventive measures; Regularly monitor the developments of the storm on mass media, maintain regular communication with owners of vehicles to promptly handle possible bad situations; The Provincial Border Guard Command directs coastal border posts to immediately deploy notifications, count ships and boats, and instruct them not to enter dangerous areas. The danger zone for the next 24 hours is determined from North Latitude 15 and East Longitude 115 (the danger zone will be adjusted depending on the storm's developments).

Requesting forces to maintain rescue forces and vehicles to be ready to respond when required; organize serious on-duty shifts and regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue.
