Nghe An will plant 17,000 hectares of new raw material forests.
(Baonghean.vn) - According to the plan, in 2018, Nghe An will plant over 17,000 hectares of new raw material forests to meet the needs of plywood factories and wood chip facilities in the area.
This year's spring crop alone will be planted on over 5,000 hectares, concentrated in the districts of Quy Hop, Nghia Dan, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son... To ensure conditions for afforestation, up to this point many localities are carrying out the process of treating the ground cover (reaching over 70% of the area) and digging holes (reaching over 30% of the area). It is expected that after the Lunar New Year (from the 5th to the 6th), spring forest planting will be implemented.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has advised the Provincial People's Committee on a plan to organize the launching ceremony of the provincial tree planting festival in the spring of Mau Tuat. Organize widespread propaganda about the meaningful purpose of the tree planting festival to forever remember Uncle Ho. To ensure conditions for forest planting, the Department requires districts and communes to stay close to the area and coordinate to guide the technical process for forest planters.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has directed agricultural and forestry units, forestry service cooperatives, etc. to cultivate over 22 million seedlings of various types, focusing mainly on hybrid acacia. The functional sector has established a team to control the quality of forestry seedlings before they leave the nursery.
Mr. Dang Xuan Minh, Deputy Director of the Forestry Department, added: The current difficulty in afforestation is the lack of capital, most of the above areas are mainly due to households borrowing to plant forests. Not to mention the difficult transportation of raw material production areas, many places have not been invested, so the transportation of seedlings, fertilizers and forest care after planting is quite difficult. Currently, some districts have allocated budgets to support people with seedlings for forest planting.
