On October 18, Nghe An Oncology Hospital discovered a Covid-19 infection case among medical staff in the unit. Immediately after discovering the infection case, Nghe An Oncology Hospital isolated, locked down, disinfected and took samples for SARS-CoV-2 testing using PCR method for medical staff, workers, patients and patients' relatives at the Center for Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine.
The hospital urgently investigated, traced, isolated and tested related F1 and F2 cases. The total number of people quarantined and locked down here is 278.
During the isolation period, Nghe An Oncology Hospital conducted periodic tests for medical staff, workers, patients and patients' relatives at the Center for Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine.
Through testing, the Hospital discovered 31 more cases of Covid-19 infection (26 patients and 05 relatives of patients being treated) in the isolation area (2nd floor), Radiation Department (3rd floor), Internal Medicine Department 1 (4th floor).

At the meeting, the specialized agencies analyzed and assessed that the outbreak situation at the Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine Center of Nghe An Oncology Hospital is quite complicated. Concluding the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of Nghe An Department of Health requested Nghe An Oncology HospitalUrgently and thoroughly liberate, move all medical staff, patients, patients' relatives and facilities of the Center for Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine - Nghe An Oncology Patients to Ammy Hotel, Cua Lo Town for centralized isolation for 14 days as prescribed.
In particular, it is necessary to divide into groups: high risk, risk to organize appropriate rooming and isolation. Patients are transferred from inpatient treatment to outpatient treatment. For medical staff, it is necessary to arrange appropriately to ensure both isolation according to regulations and treatment for patients.
