In 2024, Nghe An tourism industry continues to reap results, creating a premise for development in 2025 and gradually moving towards a spearhead economic sector.

Marking a new development step

In 2024, Nghe An's first notable tourism event is a group of 30 Dutch tourists coming to Vinh city to experience the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in President Ho Chi Minh's hometown.

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Director of the Department of Tourism, 2024 marks a new development step when the number of tourists reaches 9,200,000 (equal to 110% compared to the same period in 2023), of which the number of staying guests reaches 5,800,000; tourism revenue reaches over 11,000 billion VND (equal to 141% compared to the same period in 2023).

Currently, the province has 928 accommodation establishments, including 4 5-star hotels, 10 4-star hotels, 28 3-star hotels, many European and Asian restaurants that meet the standards for serving tourists. Nghe An Department of Tourism has implemented activities to strengthen state management of tourist accommodation establishments, improve service quality; implement solutions to improve the quality of tourism human resources, better meet the increasing demands of tourists.

At the same time, tourists gradually have more choices when coming to Nghe An, because tourism products are increasingly rich and diverse. In particular, the province focuses on products with advantages: beach resort tourism, cultural - historical tourism associated with spirituality, eco-tourism associated with the culture of ethnic minority areas and rural areas.

2025 will be an exciting year with many important events. The tourism industry will promote the implementation of the Tourism Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2035. Focus on developing key tourism products to enhance the competitiveness of destinations, including: Cultural - historical tourism associated with spirituality; comprehensive entertainment and high-end beach resort tourism; agricultural and rural tourism; conference and seminar tourism (MICE)... on the basis of sustainable development towards green growth.

Aiming at the goal of building a unique product, the Department of Tourism actively coordinates to implement the Plan for Conservation, Restoration and Promotion of the Value of the Special National Monument of President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Kim Lien in association with tourism development.

At the same time, attract strategic investors to gradually qualify for recognition as Kim Lien National Tourist Area (with the core area being Kim Lien relic site) in the period of 2021-2030.

The provincial tourism sector continues to focus on implementing the tourism development strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2035, and improving the effectiveness of tourism promotion associated with digital transformation, promoting cooperation and linkage in tourism development, applying digital transformation in tourism promotion and communication. Coordinate and participate in tourism promotion and communication activities, events in the National Tourism Year 2025 program, organize the Nghe An tourism promotion program in provinces and cities, and welcome famtrip and presstrip delegations to survey Nghe An tourism.
