Nearly 7,000 agricultural chains in the region

Implementing the policy of encouraging the development of cooperation and linkage in production and consumption of agricultural products in the Central region, by the end of June 2021, the whole country had nearly 7,000 agricultural linkage chains; both the Central and local governments have allocated over 1,100 billion VND to support the implementation of linkage projects and plans according to Decree 98 of the Government.

In 14 provinces in the Central region, hundreds of thousands of farming households, thousands of cooperatives, cooperative groups, and enterprises have joined in the association, bringing practical results from production to consumption. However, according to the general assessment, there are still many limitations in this issue.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Thanh Hoa - Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Product Processing and Market Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development stated: In the coming time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will focus on reviewing, adjusting and supplementing documents to overcome and remove difficulties and obstacles in mechanisms and policies such as content, objects, support levels; procedures. Arrange and integrate resources to implement policies.

At the same time, train to enhance capacity for the participants in the association; invest in infrastructure, transfer scientific and technological advances, and apply high technology to the association planning projects.

"We will continue to attract businesses to invest in building concentrated, high-quality raw material production areas, and provide incentives to encourage businesses and cooperatives to link up, establish legal entities, and develop chain linkages to build large-scale, high-quality commodity areas," Mr. Le Thanh Hoa affirmed.

Expanding consumption channels for Nghe An agricultural products

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee introduced the potential of Nghe An agricultural products. In addition to abundant processed products such as meat and milk, Nghe An also has a source of fresh, unprocessed agricultural products of high quality, favored by consumers nationwide.

This year's citrus output is estimated at over 50,000 tons; the whole province has nearly 250 hectares of vegetables and tubers produced according to VietGAP and organic standards; 165 net houses and greenhouses with a total area of ​​over 27 hectares. In addition, the supply of aquatic and livestock products is very high quality and abundant. In 2019 - 2020, Nghe An has 106 products meeting OCOP standards.

Despite many efforts to expand and find markets, the consumption of Nghe An's agricultural products still faces many difficulties and shortcomings, especially at a time when the economy is negatively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; many low-value products are exported raw.

“Nghe An hopes that the Central Ministries, Departments, and Branches and large distributors and retailers will support and connect agricultural products to distribution systems, large supermarkets, and reputable e-commerce trading floors at home and abroad so that Nghe An agricultural products have a stable source of consumption and increase product value,” emphasized Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu./.
