Nghe An: Highlights September 19
(Baonghean.vn) - Storm No. 5 did not directly make landfall in Nghe An, but its circulation caused much damage to people in many localities of the province. This is a highlight of events on September 19 posted on Nghe An e-newspaper.
*DBy the morning of September 19, many places in Vinh city and some neighboring districtsstill heavily floodeddue to heavy and prolonged rain from the previous day. According to Nghe An Newspaper, by 8:30 a.m., some roads in Vinh City were still flooded even though the rain had stopped. The most severely affected was Lenin Street connecting the city center with Vinh Airport and National Highway 46.

*LIVEIn mountainous areas, by the evening of September 19, the rain had not stopped, many villages in border areas suffered serious landslides,isolated by floods.
In communes such as Na Ngoi, Bac Ly and My Ly, Ky Son district, the rain has caused trees to fall, rocks and soil to slide, and many villages have been isolated by floods. In Na Ngoi commune, the floods washed away the only temporary bridge to Huoi Thum village, completely isolating the village from the outside.

*TMeanwhile, in another development, many hydroelectric plants haveflood release noticeAccordingly, the water level on the Nam Mo River increased rapidly, and a number of hydroelectric plants in Con Cuong and Tuong Duong districts announced flood discharge.
Mr. Lo Van Ly - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Con Cuong district said that the district has received a notice from Khe Bo Hydropower Plant to release flood water with a flow rate of 500 to 1,000 m3/s from 8:00 a.m. on September 19; at the same time, Chi Khe Hydropower Plant is expected to release flood water with a flow rate of 600 - 1,300 m3/s from 8:30 a.m. on September 19.
Then, on the morning of September 19, Chau Thang Hydropower Plant and Nhan Hac Hydropower Plant also discharged floodwater. Specifically, Chau Thang Hydropower Plant (Quy Chau) discharged floodwater with a flow rate of 76 - 700 m3/s. Meanwhile, Nhan Hac Hydropower Plant (Que Phong) discharged floodwater with a flow rate of 500 - 1,000 m3/s.3/S.

That is my sister Truong Nguyen Linh Nga (born 2002), a student at Quy Hop 1 High School. In the recent high school graduation exam, Linh Nga achieved a total score of 30.35 points in 3 subjects (including priority points), in which Nga's D block score was 27.6 points (Math 9.2; Literature 9 and English 9.4). Truong Nguyen Linh Nga said she will apply for the Foreign Economics major at Hanoi Foreign Trade University. It is known that Nga is 1 of 2 ethnic minority students who achieved high scores in the high school graduation exam in the mountainous district of Quy Hop and were commended by the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.

Also attending were comrades in the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, leaders of departments, branches, and mass organizations at all levels.
At the Commendation Ceremony, the provincial leaders presented Certificates of Merit and prizes to the following students: Pham Trung Quoc Anh won the Gold Medal at the 2020 International Chemistry Olympiad, First Prize for National Excellent Students in Chemistry; Tran The Trung won the contest: "Road to Olympia, 19th year"; Dau Huy Minh won the First Prize in the contest "Youth studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh"; 82 students won prizes at the 2020 National Excellent High School Student Contest and 4 students won prizes at the National Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the 2019-2020 school year; 36 students scored 28.3 points or higher in 5 university entrance exam groups and 7 ethnic minority students with scores close to the 5 exam groups: A, B, C, D and A1 were also honored to receive Certificates of Merit and prizes at the Commendation Ceremony.
This is the 11th consecutive year that Nghe An province has organized a ceremony to honor and award excellent international and national students and students with high scores in the National High School Exam.
