Nghe An: Highlights of August 2nd

* On the morning of August 2nd,Steering Committee for Administrative Reform(CCHC) Nghe An province held a review of its work during the first six months of the year and outlined tasks for the remaining six months of 2024.

In his directive speech, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy requested the Provincial Steering Committee for Administrative Reform to focus on completing the 2024 plan, especially ensuring that pilot units achieve significant progress; to strengthen propaganda efforts; and for the Standing Agency of the Provincial Steering Committee for Administrative Reform, the Department of Internal Affairs, to research and advise on methods for receiving feedback from citizens and businesses through the application of technology.

In addition, the province needs to continue effectively implementing Project 06, assigning responsibility to the heads of departments; in which, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy agreed with the proposal to select Vinh City as the pilot unit for implementing Project 06 of the province.

* On the morning of August 2nd,The Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council organized a conference.Exchange of operational experience with the Standing Committee of the District People's Council, 5th session, term 2021-2026.

The conference focused on evaluating the performance of the Provincial and District People's Councils in the first six months of the year and identifying key tasks for the last six months of 2024; in particular, assessing the role of People's Councils at all levels in implementing and organizing the mechanisms and policies of Resolution No. 137 of the National Assembly on supplementing pilot projects of some specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Nghe An province, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of Nghe An in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo.

Regarding future propaganda orientation, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requests that media agencies continue to promote information on Party building and the construction of the political system in 2024; strengthen information and propaganda to highlight the results and achievements attained in all fields during the three years of implementing the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, in conjunction with the five key programs and 21 key projects.

* With its large area, lush green spaces, and the large number of people strolling, exercising, and playing there every day,The regulating lake in Vinh City is revealing its potential for developing the night-time economy.Some have suggested that investment should be attracted to the regulating lake to create a tourism highlight, increase revenue, and minimize the current uncontrolled and spontaneous business activities.

Mr. Tran Quang Lam, Vice Chairman of the Vinh City People's Committee, said that the city has also had ideas to develop the night-time economy in this area. In the future, they will call on businesses to invest in entertainment and recreational services around the regulating lake to leverage the strengths of this area and create a new destination on the city's tourism map.

* Implementing the plan of Anh Son district and province on organizing activities to commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), during the period of gratitude activities and the "drinking water, remembering the source" festival, the Management Board of the Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs Cemetery coordinated with relevant levels and sectors to organizeWe welcomed 335 delegations from the central government, provinces, and localities.(Including 9 delegations from the Central Government; 45 delegations from provincial-level departments and agencies; 13 delegations from district Party Committees and People's Committees; 239 district-level organizations and socio-political organizations, businesses...) with over 23,385 visitors paying tribute to the heroic martyrs.

* On August 1st, the Criminal Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police)Two individuals have been prosecuted.Luong Thi Mai (born in 1985) and Luong Van Son (born in 1964), both residing in Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district, were charged with "human trafficking".
