Nghe An: Highlights of June 20th

* On the morning of June 20th, at the Presidential Palace, Comrade Luong Cuong - Member of the Political Bureau, President of the RepublicMeeting and commending 150 journalists., an exemplary journalist representing the large number of journalists nationwide, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025).

The program "Meeting to Commend Outstanding Journalists" commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) is an opportunity for Party and State leaders, press management agencies, and press agencies to review the glorious traditions, important and significant contributions, and noble mission of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past 100 years; to encourage, motivate, commend, honor, and express gratitude to generations of journalists and press agencies with outstanding achievements.

* On the morning of June 20th, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee held a province-wide online conference.trial operationof the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of the newly established commune/ward under the two-tiered local government model in the province.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung assessed that, with a spirit of urgency, seriousness, and efficiency, the trial operation conference of the Party committees, People's Councils, and People's Committees of the newly established communes and wards under the two-tiered local government model had completed all the planned content and programs, achieving the goals and requirements in terms of content, form, and quality.

* At the same timeDong Loc communeNghe An province has conducted a trial run of the two-tiered local government model, an important preparatory step before the model officially comes into operation throughout the province from July 1, 2025.

Dong Loc commune is a newly established administrative unit formed by merging three communes: Khanh Hop, Nghi Thach, and Thinh Truong. It is one of 130 new commune-level administrative units in Nghe An province under the two-tiered local government organizational model.

The pilot operation in Dong Loc commune aims to test the model in a locality with a consolidated administrative unit, thereby assessing the organizational and operational capacity and coordination among institutions in the grassroots political system.

* The People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Plan 459/KH-UBND (dated June 17, 2025) onImplementing an online citizen reception model.within the province. The activity aims to improve the efficiency and quality of citizen reception work, meeting the demands of society in the new situation, as well as in special circumstances (epidemics, natural disasters...).

* On the morning of June 20th, under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phung Thanh Vinh, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session to hear and give opinions on the implementation of several related issues.Quynh Lap LNG Gas-fired Thermal Power Plant Project.

The Quynh Lap LNG Thermal Power Plant is one of 14 gas-fired thermal power projects included in the list of important power source projects prioritized for investment until 2030.

* On the morning of June 20th,Inspection team for law enforcementRegarding the handling of administrative violations in the fisheries sector, a meeting was held with Nghe An province.

A representative from the Ministry of Justice stated that the delegation's visit to Nghe An, in addition to assessing the practical situation regarding the control and handling of administrative violations in fisheries exploitation in the province, also aimed to exchange and receive feedback and recommendations from the locality on handling administrative violations as well as other tasks, with the goal of working together with the whole country to lift the IUU yellow card.
