Nghe An: Highlights of August 3rd
On the morning of August 3rd, the 13th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam convened in Hanoi. The meeting elected Comrade To Lam, the President of Vietnam, as the General Secretary of the Central Committee. At a press conference immediately following the meeting, the new General Secretary To Lam affirmed that he would continue to promote to the highest degree the spirit of "self-reliance, self-confidence, self-sufficiency, self-strength, and national pride."
*Conference of the Central Executive Committee of the 13th Party CongressThe conference opened on the morning of August 3rd in Hanoi. The conference elected Comrade To Lam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam with an absolute majority of votes.
*In his inaugural address, the new General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized“I pledge before the Central Committee, before the entire Party, the entire people, and the entire army, that I will continuously strive and work together with the Central Committee members to inherit and strongly promote the glorious traditions and valuable experiences of our Party and the achievements of previous congresses, including the 13th National Congress; to maximize the spirit of “self-reliance, self-confidence, self-sufficiency, self-strength, and national pride”; to continuously strengthen unity within the Party and national unity; to continue to promote Party building and rectification, and combat corruption and negative phenomena; to connect thought and action, the Party's will and the people's aspirations; to wholeheartedly and diligently dedicate myself, striving and sacrificing for a strong Communist Party of Vietnam; for a prosperous, democratic, just, and civilized Vietnam; and for the Vietnamese people to have a prosperous and happy life.”
Immediately after being elected,Comrade To Lam chaired the press conference.
Speaking at the press conference, the newly elected General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President expressed: Comrade General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong – an exceptionally outstanding leader, a steadfast communist party member with great prestige in the Party, State, and people of Vietnam, embodying the full qualities, talents, courage, and wisdom of the generation of Vietnamese leaders in the đổi mới (renovation) period – his passing is an immeasurable and irreplaceable loss for our Party, our nation, and our people. At this moment, the entire Party, the entire people, the entire army, and international friends are still deeply moved and have not yet overcome their boundless grief for our exceptionally outstanding leader.
However, in response to the urgent and ongoing demands and tasks of the Party and State in building and developing the country and caring for the people's lives, the Politburo and the Central Committee decided on the policy of consolidating the leadership positions of the Party and State, first and foremost the position of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party.
*Vinh City plans to spend over 3,000 billion VND on public investment.In 2025, specifically: the total projected public investment capital from the city budget in 2025 is 3,004 billion VND. Of this, over 1,961 billion VND is expected to be allocated to repay debts for completed and unfinished projects; over 742 billion VND for 82 projects and works expected to start construction or are in the investment preparation phase; and over 300 billion VND for contingency, land use planning, debt settlement for wards and communes, and entrusted lending through the social policy bank system (10%).
* On the morning of August 3rd, the Youth Union of the Business Sector of Nghe An province organized...Ceremony to honor students with outstanding achievementsIn their studies and training, these students are children of officials, Party members, and workers belonging to the Party Committee of the Enterprise Bloc during the 2023-2024 school year. 102 outstanding students were commended.
* On August 1st, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Le Hong Vinh, signed the Decisions.administrative penaltiesIn the field of road and rail transport, the following individuals are involved: Mr. YVP (born in 1979), residing in Nghi Huong Ward, Cua Lo Town; Mr. N.D.T (born in 1975), residing in Truong Thi Ward, Vinh City; and Mr. NHC (born in 1982), residing in Lang Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District.
These three men were fined a total of over 100 million VND.
