Nghe An: Highlights on February 4

*Morning of February 4, Nghe An provinceLaunch CeremonyProgram to mobilize support for building houses for the poor and people with difficult housing circumstances in the province for the period 2023 - 2025.

On October 1, 2019, the Provincial Party Standing Committee agreed on the policy of calling for the mobilization of social resources to support poor households to improve their housing with the goal of building 1,200 Great Solidarity houses for poor households towards the 130th Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's Birthday (May 19, 2020); in the immediate future, priority will be given to families with revolutionary contributions, poor households with special difficulties and no ability to work (orphans, people with disabilities, lonely elderly people with no place to rely on) in the period of 2020 - 2022.

In the period of 2020 - 2022, the whole province mobilized resources to support the construction and repair of more than 4,500 houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties; of which 3,870 new houses were built and more than 630 houses were repaired with a total cost of more than 177 billion VND.

On the occasion of the 93rd Anniversary of the Party's Founding Day (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2023), the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee agreed to organize a launching ceremony of the campaign to support the construction of houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties in Nghe An province for the period 2023 - 2025. Nghe An has established a Steering Committee at the provincial, district and commune levels to mobilize and support the construction of houses for poor and near-poor households, with the Party Secretary as the head of the steering committee, in which at the provincial level the Provincial Party Secretary is the head of the committee.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, sharing and sympathizing with the difficult and arduous circumstances of the people in the Central region in general and Nghe An in particular, a place that often suffers from natural disasters, former President Truong Tan Sang welcomed the policy of Nghe An province in organizing this very meaningful program.

As of 9:30 a.m. on February 4, 115 organizations and individuals had supported the program with 10,131 houses; equivalent to VND 517 billion 618 million, the average support level for a house is VND 50 million.

*In order toencourage the recruitsBefore the day of departure to build and defend the Fatherland, during these days, localities across the province organized meetings and established delegations to directly visit the families of young men joining the army this year.

At this point, preparations for the military enlistment ceremony are basically complete. Currently, localities in the district have organized many activities to meet, visit, and give gifts to encourage the recruited young men to feel secure in their military service.

*After the efforts of the parties involved, by 8:00 a.m. on February 4, the entire5/5 pumping stations along Lam RiverThanh Chuong district has resumed operations, farmers have focused on going to the fields to produce the spring crop on time.

“The Department of Agriculture highly appreciates the cooperation of Ban Ve Hydropower Company in its efforts to regulate and help the downstream areas have water for production. At the same time, it is recommended that the Company continue to maintain the water discharge level for 5 days to meet the demand, but also balance to reserve water for the rice-flowering stage near the end of the crop,” said Mr. Nguyen Truong Thanh, Head of the Provincial Irrigation Department.

*Also related to the safety of the irrigation system, protecting people's lives in the new production season, recently, asteel fenceTo reduce traffic accidents, a bridge was built along the bank of Vach Bac canal in Da Son hamlet, Do Thanh commune, Yen Thanh.

*On the morning of February 4, Nghe An Provincial Police conducted asearch at the Center headquartersNghe An Motor Vehicle Inspection, at 72 Phan Boi Chau Street, Vinh City.

At the time of the search, the Center's leaders were present to work and sign many related documents and records. Accordingly, the authorities drew up records, seized and sealed many computers and documents; some file rooms at the Center were also sealed to serve the investigation.

*Then, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Provincial Police coordinated with relevant agencies toemergency search of workplace, residenceof a Deputy Director of the Nghe An Motor Vehicle Inspection Center. Specifically, the authorities urgently searched the workplace and residence of Mr. Nguyen Trinh Tai, Deputy Director of the Nghe An Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (address 72, Phan Boi Chau Street, Vinh City).

*Also in the legal field, the Inspection Committee of Nghia Dan District Party Committee has just hadDecision to suspend party activitiesagainst 2 leaders of the Nghia Dan District Construction Investment Project Management Board after these 2 people were prosecuted and temporarily detained.

Previously, as reported by Nghe An Newspaper, on January 27, the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province approved the Decision to prosecute and the Order of temporary detention against Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Director of the Management Board of Construction Investment Projects of Nghia Dan district related to the act of "receiving bribes". At the same time, it prosecuted and issued an order to temporarily detain Mr. Le Son Dong - Director of An Viet Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, headquartered in Vinh City, for the act of "giving bribes".
