Along with that, Nghe An Provincial Customs Department has coordinated with local authorities and functional agencies and directed units to seriously and effectively deploy many measures to strengthen the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and illegal transportation of goods and drugs.
In the third quarter of 2018 alone, Nghe An Provincial Customs Department discovered, arrested and handled 50 cases.cases; accumulated from the beginning of the year, coordinated to detect, arrest, and handle 19 cases of smuggling, illegal transportation of goods, 12 drug cases, and administratively sanctioned 104 cases; total amount of money collected and paid to the state budget was over 2.4 billion VND (an increase of 187% compared to the same period in 2017).
According to the assessment of the Provincial Customs Department, the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud; controlling and preventing drugs has been well implemented by the Department, promptly detecting and arresting many large and complicated cases; contributing to preventing loss of state budget revenue, protecting the interests of people and businesses in the area.
However, the current difficulties and obstacles are that some legal regulations on commercial activities, temporary import - re-export and transit procedures have not yet bound the legal responsibilities of enterprises; the authority to investigate according to criminal procedures of the Customs authority is still limited./.
