Nghe An continues to close schools in some localities to prevent Covid-19 epidemic
(Baonghean.vn) - On March 8, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to allow local school closures to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.
Accordingly, considering the proposal of the Department of Education and Training in Official Dispatch No. 380/SGD DT-VP dated March 8, 2020 on asking for opinions on allowing students to take a local break from school to prevent the Covid19 epidemic, the Provincial People's Committee allows students of all levels in Nam Dan district; Students of all levels in Thai Son commune - Do Luong district to take a break from school until March 15, 2020 (including students living in Nam Dan district but studying at educational institutions in the province; Students living in Thai Son commune, Do Luong district studying at educational institutions in Do Luong district and the whole province (if any).

As for secondary and high school students in areas outside Nam Dan district and Thai Son commune, Do Luong district, they must follow the plan announced by the Department of Education and Training.

Regarding the absence from school, yesterday, Thai Son Commune Health Station (Do Luong District) quarantined Nguyen Cong D (born in 1991), a car repairman at a car repair shop at 30 Pham Van Dong - Cau Giay (Hanoi). On March 5, the driver of Vietnam's 17th female patient infected with Covid-19 came to repair his car at this shop. On March 7, that driver also tested positive for Covid-19.
Mr. Nguyen Cong D. himself did not come into contact with this driver while bringing his car in for repair. However, he did come into contact with the workshop workers and had dinner together. On March 6, he traveled on Ngoc Dung's car to Nghe An and then came into contact with other family members including his father, mother, daughter, grandchild, and younger sister. Currently, the health of Mr. D. and other family members is normal.

Across the province, as planned tomorrow, March 9, secondary school students will return to school after a 4-week break to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic. Before students return to school, the Department of Education and Training also issued an official dispatch requesting schools to focus more resources on installing and arranging enough hand washing systems with soap, with a minimum of 30 students/1 hand washing tap.
At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the cleaning of rooms and classrooms and actively coordinate with the Parents' Association to work with the school to clean classrooms right after the school day ends.
