At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Pham Van Hoa - Director of Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade thanked the attention and support of the Consulate General and the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia; at the same time, introduced some basic features of Nghe An's FDI attraction situation in the first 10 months of the year, which is in the top 10 nationwide; the import and export situation in the first 10 months of 2022; some export and import items that are the province's strengths to Australia. Accordingly, in recent years, although the export situation of Nghe An goods to Australia has been more positive, it has not yet reflected its true potential.

Nghe An currently has 20 enterprises participating in exporting to Australia, of which 17 are strengths such as cement, construction materials, white stone, biomass pellets, plywood, MDF wood... 3 businesses import from Australia the following items: animal feed, production line equipment...

Currently, the demand of Nghe An enterprises to access the Australian export market is quite large, but the ability to access and understand regulations, standards of barriers, and food safety techniques of goods is quite limited. Moreover, Australia is a demanding market; especially afterCovid-19 epidemic, access is also more difficult. Through meetings and dialogues, Nghe An hopes that the Consulate General and the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia will provide more specific information to businesses.

Next, the Vietnamese Trade Consulate in Australia shared some features of the market situation in this country; conditions and standards of goods entering Australia; and the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Australia. The favorable factor is that the import and export turnover between Vietnam and Australia is growing quite well; basically the Australian market does not apply quotas.

The Vietnamese community in Australia has more than 300,000 people, including many shops and stores selling goods from Vietnam; Australian businesses carefully research their partners and pay attention to business reputation before connecting and cooperating.
