Nghe An: The growth rate of total product in the province in 2018 is estimated at 8.77%

Accordingly, in 2018, the growth rate of the province's gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated at 8.77%; of which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 5.04%; the industry - construction sector increased by 15.04% (industry alone increased by 18.78%); the service sector increased by 6.96%; product tax minus product subsidies increased by 4.96%. The average GRDP per capita is estimated at 38 million VND. The economic structure is shifting in the right direction.

Budget revenue in 2018 is estimated at VND 13,141.6 billion, reaching 103.6% of the estimate and increasing by 3.1% compared to 2017. Budget expenditure in 2018 is estimated at VND 24,764.63 billion, reaching 104.1% of the estimate.

As of November 15, 2018, 100 investment projects have been decided, with a total registered capital of VND 8,789.58 billion; 7 projects have been adjusted with an increased adjusted capital of VND 704 billion. The structure of industries and fields attracting investment has been positively shifted.

The province also continues to focus on directing the review, inspection and handling of projects that are behind schedule; in 2018, the Provincial People's Committee decided to revoke 13 projects (to date, 146 projects have been revoked).

Business development in Nghe An has achieved good results. As of November 15, 2018, 1,683 new businesses were established, up 5.25% over the same period (the cumulative number of registered businesses to date is 19,484 businesses), with a total registered capital of VND 9,463 billion, up 9.84% over the same period; 440 businesses have registered to resume operations, 95 more than the same period.

The fields of trade, tourism, information and communication, transportation, finance and banking developed quite well: Total retail sales of goods and service revenue were estimated at 78,700 billion VND, up 13.42%; export turnover was estimated at 1,010 million USD, of which export turnover of goods reached 710 million USD.

Tourism activities have many positive changes, the number of tourists has increased, especially during holidays; the total number of visitors is estimated at over 4.29 million, an increase of 11.5%.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy also said: During the year, Nghe An had 30 more communes meeting new rural standards, bringing the total number of communes meeting new rural standards in the province to 211, accounting for 48.96% of the total number of communes, the average number of criteria per commune was 14.68 criteria; 3 district-level units met the standards and completed new rural construction; 56 villages were recognized as meeting new rural standards. The poverty rate by the end of 2018 is expected to be about 5.54%.
