Nghe An awards the task force that seized 15 kg of 'high-grade' drug ketamine

At 4:00 a.m. on June 1, 2019, on National Highway 8A in Son Tay commune, Huong Son district, Ha Tinh, the Task Force arrested Mua Ba Cho, born in 1983 (Lao nationality) and Mua Ba Va, born in 1988, residing in Na Ngoi commune, Ky Son district, while driving a motorbike carrying many bags of drugs, weighing 15 kg of crystal meth.

At the same time, the Task Force arrested Hoang Nghia Van, born in 1975, with permanent residence in Hamlet 7B, Hung Long Commune, Hung Nguyen District, while waiting to receive drugs in Pho Chau Town, Huong Son District, Ha Tinh. During the arrest, the police seized Hoang Nghia Van's assets including: 16,000 USD, 01 Honda CRV car, license plate 37A-53651, 02 mobile phones.

Reporting on the achievements of the 519M Project Team, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Duc Than said: To successfully break the project, Vinh City Police mobilized many officers and soldiers to participate, and carried out the project for a relatively long time. The subjects in the project operated very closely, recklessly and aggressively. The process of arresting Mua Ba Cho and Mua Ba Va, the project team encountered many difficulties, when these two subjects were discovered, they drove their motorbike straight into the working group to escape.

The subjects communicated with each other using modern mobile devices, displaying foreign numbers while communicating domestically (this is a new trick of drug traffickers). Lieutenant Colonel Tran Duc Than added: "The amount of drugs seized was Ketamine, this is a "high-grade" drug, with 15 kg of Ketamine seized by the City Police having a value equivalent to 15 billion VND".

Speaking at the award ceremony, comrade Le Hong Vinh acknowledged and praised the outstanding achievements of the officers and soldiers of Vinh City Police and the professional units of the Provincial Police. The successful discovery of Project 519M demonstrated the spirit of determination in attacking crime, and also affirmed the steadfastness in professional skills and sharp thinking of the members of the project team. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: If 15 kg of Ketamine were to leak out into society, many families would lose their homes, children, and property.

In the coming time, the situation of drug crimes will still be complicated, because of the huge profits from drugs, the subjects will not give up any tricks to operate. Therefore, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Vinh City Police to do a better job of grasping the situation of all types of crimes in general, drug crimes in particular, and the illegal activities of other subjects... to fight and strongly suppress all types of crimes, maintaining security and order in the area.

On this occasion, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee awarded 60 million VND, Vinh City People's Committee and Nghe An Provincial Police awarded 10 million VND each to Project 519M.
