Nghe An urgently deploys measures to prevent hunger, cold and disease for livestock
(Baonghean.vn) - On February 23, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued urgent dispatch No. 06/CD-UBND on focusing on drastic implementation of urgent measures to prevent hunger, cold and diseases for livestock.
In recent days, the weather has been complicated, temperatures in many places have dropped, causing the phenomenon ofsevere cold, especially in mountainous areas, has caused many livestock to die. According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather situation is still complicated, with the risk of negatively affecting livestock production.
In order to promptly cope with extreme weather phenomena and minimize the damage caused by hunger, cold and disease to livestock, the Provincial People's Committee requests the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns; Directors of departments and heads of relevant provincial-level sectors to strictly implement Official Dispatch No. 7055/BNN-CN dated October 27, 2021 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development onproactively prevent hunger and cold for livestock.

Specifically, the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns shall strengthen the direction of the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns; relevant departments and units to deploy and implement measures to prevent hunger, cold and livestock and poultry diseases in the area; sign a commitment for livestock households to absolutely not let livestock roam freely in the winter; any livestock households that intentionally let livestock roam freely and do not implement measures to prevent hunger and cold, if they suffer damage, will not be supported for damage according to State regulations.
At the same time, establish inspection teams at district and commune levels to go down to villages and households to inspect, direct and provide guidance on care and feeding techniques, measures to prevent hunger, cold and diseases for livestock and poultry, with special attention to mountainous and highland areas.
