The report at the conference presented by comrade Nguyen Van De showed that Nghe An is one of four provinces in the North Central region, one of 21 provinces and cities nationwide with African swine fever (ASF). From March 30, 2021 to present, ASF has occurred in 1,762 households, 386 hamlets, 145 communes, 19 districts, with a total of 4,794 pigs destroyed, with a total weight of 295,688 kg.

After first appearing in Van Loi commune, Quy Hop district on December 11, 2020 and being controlled, from February 10, 2021 to now, lumpy skin disease (LSD) in cattle has reappeared, and in a short time, 85 outbreaks have occurred in 17 districts, cities and towns. The number of sick cattle is 668 in 481 households; 26 died and had to be destroyed with a total weight of over 3,300 kg, a mortality rate of 3.92%.

Currently, there are 81 outbreaks of ASF in 17 districts, cities and towns that have not passed 21 days. The number of infected cows is currently 648 cows from 464 households in 168 hamlets.
“In the coming time, the risk of ASF, DTLCP, avian influenza, foot-and-mouth disease and other dangerous diseases in livestock and poultry may increase.outbreakwidespread, seriously affecting livestock development, causingdamages"It is a major economic issue, affecting the environment, life and health of the people," said comrade Nguyen Van De.
On crops, there are currently 1,757 hectares of rice infected with leaf blast disease, of which 117 hectares are severely infected and 411 hectares are “leaf scorched”. In addition, diseases such as brown spot, leaf blight, golden apple snails, rats, etc. have appeared.

In particular, cassava mosaic disease is currently occurring in 7 districts with a total cassava area infected with over 1,940 hectares, of which 33 hectares are severely infected (disease rate over 70%).

Urgently fight the epidemic like fighting the enemy
Concluding the conference, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu affirmed that the Provincial People's Committee will consider and promptly resolve the issues proposed by localities, and issues beyond its authority will be submitted to the Central Government for resolution.
