Mr. Le Van Hong - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Yen Thanh district said: Forest planting exceeded the target because this year the price of raw acacia increased, from a low price of only 8-9 million VND/ton of acacia, now it has increased to 12-13 million VND/ton of acacia, so people exploit and plant many new trees.

To make the afforestation work effective, Yen Thanh District People's Committee has assigned technical staff from the Department of Agriculture and the Agricultural Extension Station to coordinate with communes to guide people on the technical process of planting and caring for trees.raw material forest; Establish an inspection team to inspect seed records, seed origin, and inventory nursery work at seedling production facilities before leaving the nursery to ensure quality.

Or Song Hieu Agriculture and Forestry One Member Co., Ltd. (managing Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, Quy Chau, Que Phong districts) was assigned by the province to plant 701 hectares in 2022. The unit has planted 913 hectares of raw acacia, including 230 hectares of large timber raw forest.

It is known that this unit invests in intensive forest planting quite high, over 20 million VND/ha, including money for seeds, fertilizers and care. Economically, for large timber forests after planting for about 10 years, they can harvest from 180-250 m³wood/ha, 2-3 times higher than current planted forests.

According to the report of the Forestry Department, in 2022, the whole province has newly planted 20,800 hectares/plan of 18,000 hectares of raw material forest (exceeding 2,800 hectares), creating more than 36.5 million acacia seedlings of all kinds. Of which, newly planted over 2,000 hectares of large timber raw material forest concentrated in Anh Son,Thanh Chuong, Nghia Dan, Quy Hop. Regarding policy mechanisms, the provincial budget supports 8 million VND/ha for planting large timber forests to invest in seeds and fertilizers (there is a commitment between the relevant industry and forest growers that it can only be exploited after 7-8 years).

Planting raw material forests beyond the target, in addition to providing enough raw materials for more than 90 wood processing facilities and factories, 3 pellet processing factories in the area also help people improve their lives and get rich from the forest.
