Nghe An: Honoring 119 elderly people with good business and production skills

In the past 5 years, implementing the movement "Old age - bright example" to compete in good production and business, many typical economic models have appeared in many fields of agriculture, forestry, fishery, industry, construction, small-scale industry, trade services... in the province.

Typical examples include Mr. Vu Van Duc (72 years old in Quynh Xuan ward, Hoang Mai town) who specializes in aquaculture with a revenue of 10 billion/year; Mr. Lu Trung Hoa (64 years old in My Ly commune, Ky Son district) who is the owner of a forest plantation and livestock farm with an average revenue of nearly 300 million/year; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Dem (83 years old in Nghia Hong commune, Nghia Dan district) who provides passenger transport services, creating jobs for 54 workers...

The success of economic models led by the elderly has promoted the role and potential of the elderly, generating hundreds of billions of VND in revenue per year. At the same time, it has contributed to transforming the economic structure, labor, crops and livestock, developing traditional industries suitable to each locality, creating thousands of jobs for workers.

Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Dai highly appreciated the efforts of the members of the elderly association, especially in innovation and creativity in thinking, working, and good business production.

He also believes that with their exemplary, transparent, and methodical gathering and association, the exemplary elderly will be a role model to encourage their children and grandchildren to comply with the law, strive to get rich, and develop the economy.

On the part of the Provincial Elderly Association, it is necessary to do a good job of promoting typical examples of good production and business of the elderly so that they can be replicated and developed throughout the province. The Association also needs to innovate its activities to gather members in economic development and grasp the needs and aspirations of its members, especially the difficulties in production and business, to propose to the Provincial People's Committee to promptly remove obstacles and problems.
