This afternoon, September 16, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province issued Official Dispatch No. 06 on proactively responding to the developments of a tropical depression that could strengthen into a storm.

According to the bulletin of the North Central Hydrometeorological Station, a tropical depression is active in the sea east of Luzon Island (Philippines). At 1:00 p.m. on September 16, the center of the tropical depression was at about 17.1 degrees North latitude; 123.9 degrees East longitude. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression is level 6-7 (39-61 km/h), gusting to level 9; moving mainly west at about 15 km/h.

Closely monitor the development of tropical depressions; strictly manage means of transport going out to sea; organize counting and notify owners of means of transport, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of ​​the location, direction of movement and development of tropical depressions to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.

Ready forces and means for rescue when required.

Dangerous areas in the next 24 hours: North of latitude 15.0 - 19.0; East of longitude 117.5 (dangerous areas are adjusted in forecast bulletins).

The North Central Hydrometeorological Station closely monitors, forecasts, warns, and promptly informs about the development of tropical depressions to proactively deploy response measures.
Units: Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station and mass media increase information and communication about the developments of the tropical depression to authorities at all levels, owners of vehicles operating at sea and people to know and proactively prevent and respond.
