Nghe An completely eliminates two dangerous self-opened paths on the North-South railway line

Implementing Plan No. 235/KH-UBND dated April 27, 2021 of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on thoroughly handling self-opened paths across the railway according to the Project to ensure order and safety of railway traffic corridors (Decision 358/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister), the Traffic Safety Committee of Nghe An province coordinated with Road Management Area II, Vinh Railway Signal Information Joint Stock Company, Nghe Tinh Railway Joint Stock Company, Nghe Tinh Railway Exploitation Branch and Trung Loc Commune People's Committee to organize barriers and completely remove 2 self-opened paths at Km304+575 and Km305+315, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line.

These are two black spots in railway traffic safety, where many serious accidents have occurred, causing damage to both people and state property. The existence of these spontaneous paths not only violates the railway traffic safety corridor but also puts great pressure on safety assurance, especially in the context of increasing vehicle density.

At Km304+820, the authorities have narrowed the road, allowing only motorbikes and pedestrians to pass. Once the residential access road is completed, this path will also be completely closed to ensure compliance with planning and safety.

Mr. Phan Huy Chuong - Deputy Head of the Traffic Safety Committee of Nghe An province emphasized: "Eliminating spontaneous crossings is a fundamental, necessary and mandatory solution in ensuring railway traffic safety. Spontaneous crossings not only violate the safety corridor but are also the direct cause of many tragic accidents in recent times. We clearly define our viewpoint to handle this situation decisively and resolutely, not to let this situation recur."
