Nghe An promotes tourism in the Northeast region of Thailand

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 25, in Udon Thani province - Kingdom of Thailand, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and Nghe An Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the People's Committees of Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue provinces; Tourism Authority of Thailand and Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Ken to organize a conference to promote Nghe An tourism in Thailand.

Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son - Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Ken; Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong - Director of Tourism Department, General Department of Tourism; Mr. Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee; Representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tourism Promotion Information Center, tourism businesses of Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue provinces.

On the side of the Kingdom of Thailand, there were: Mr. Srithichai Chindaluang - Deputy Governor of Udon Thani Province; Mr. Seksan Sripriwan - Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand office in Udon Thani; Udon Thani press agencies and nearly 200 tourism businesses in 20 provinces in the Northeast of Thailand.

Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented souvenirs to representatives of Udon Thani Provincial Government and Tourism Authority of Thailand.

At the conference, Nghe An province in particular and the North Central provinces in general introduced tourism potentials and mutual development opportunities to managers and tourism businesses of 20 northeastern provinces of Thailand.

Accordingly: The North Central region has a geographical location close to Thailand; Directly connecting the Northeastern provinces of Thailand with the North Central provinces of Vietnam and vice versa by road on the East-West Economic Corridor is very convenient. Currently, the Vinh - Bangkok flight route and the Udon Thani connection have also been put into operation, opening up new opportunities for the exchange of visitors between the two sides to the region.

Thai tourism businesses seek tourism information for the North Central region in general and Nghe An in particular at the conference.

At the conference, leaders of Nghe An tourism industry respectfully invited tourism associations and businesses from 20 provinces in the Northeast of Thailand to attend and survey tours during the Sunflower Festival on December 22.

Nearly 200 business representatives from 20 provinces in the Northeast region of Thailand attended the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Minh Thong expressed his wish that the provincial authorities and businesses of the two countries would strengthen cooperation, promote propaganda and introduce the tourism potential and strengths of the two sides to increase tourism growth in the coming time, contributing to the prosperity of Vietnam and Thailand, and consolidating the traditional friendship between the people of the two countries.

Comrade Le Minh Thong expressed his wish that businesses send delegations to survey the potential and development opportunities in Nghe An.

Attending the conference, delegates and business representatives made important speeches and discussions on solutions to promote cooperation between Thailand and Nghe An in developing Nghe An tourism. Thai businesses were interested in support mechanisms to help businesses and new products. Both sides had preliminary studies on opening the Udon Thani - Vinh flight route and vice versa.
