Nghe An requires strengthening epidemic prevention and control during the transitional season
Nghe An Department of Health requires medical facilities to closely monitor the epidemic situation; carry out vaccination well; promptly treat and provide emergency care to patients.
April 28, Department of HealthNghe Anhas Official Dispatch No. 1626/SYT-NVY on strengthening the direction of epidemic prevention and control work during the transitional season to the Provincial Center for Disease Control, Medical Centers of districts, towns and Vinh city and medical examination and treatment facilities in the province.

To proactively control and prevent epidemics, the Department of Health requests units to seriously implement Plan No. 239/KH-UBND dated April 10, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on prevention and control of infectious diseases in Nghe An province in 2025; closely monitor the epidemic situation in the area, proactively detect suspected cases of the disease early at the border gate, in the community and at medical facilities; resolutely implement measures to prevent and thoroughly handle epidemics, not to let new outbreaks or outbreaks occur, especially infectious diseases with high morbidity and mortality (rabies, influenza A H5N1, dengue fever, hand, foot and mouth disease, measles, whooping cough, diphtheria, etc.); regularly analyze the situation and assess risks to propose and implement appropriate, timely and effective epidemic prevention and control measures.
Implement the plan to deploy the vaccination campaign to preventmeaslesin Nghe An province in 2025, phase 3, immediately after receiving the vaccine and ensuring the completion of the first vaccination before April 30, 2025, the second before May 15, 2025; continue to carry out regular vaccination well for subjects under the Expanded Immunization Program; strengthen the management of vaccination subjects, organize catch-up vaccinations, and catch-up vaccinations for children who have not been vaccinated or have not been fully vaccinated with vaccines in the Expanded Immunization Program and fully update children's vaccination information on the national vaccination information system.
Review and ensure logistics, funding, drugs, vaccines, biological products, supplies, chemicals, equipment, human resources, etc. to serve preventive medical activities, especially meeting the requirements of disease prevention and control according to the 4-on-the-spot motto; closely coordinate with media agencies, newspapers and grassroots media systems to recommend and guide people to implement personal disease prevention measures and change behaviors to improve health, pay attention to communicating by risk group in difficult areas, ethnic minority areas in many forms and in many languages suitable for each locality.
Medical examination and treatment facilities in the province need to do a good job of admitting patients, promptly treating and providing emergency care to patients, minimizing cases of severe illness and death, and implementing good infection control to prevent cross-infection in medical facilities; strengthening protection for patients in high-risk groups (elderly people, children, pregnant women, people with underlying diseases, patients treated in intensive care units, cardiovascular units, artificial kidney units, surgery units, etc.).
Organize training and capacity building for health sector staff and related units in monitoring, detecting, investigating people with infectious diseases, pathogens, measures to handle outbreaks, guidance on diagnosis, treatment, emergency, intensive care and care for people with infectious diseases; organize inspection and supervision of the implementation of epidemic prevention and control work, focusing on areas with recorded cases, at risk of outbreaks and localities that have not managed vaccination subjects well, have low vaccination rates; at the same time, proactively direct and support lower levels in epidemic prevention and control.
The Department of Health noted that facilities must ensure smooth operations and avoid interruptions that affect disease prevention and control and expanded immunization after merging and consolidating medical units at all levels; before and during the arrangement of the organizational structure, documents and databases on infectious diseases, disease prevention and control and expanded immunization must continue to be preserved and stored in accordance with regulations; strictly implement the information and reporting regime on infectious diseases according to Circular 54/TT-BYT dated December 28, 2015 of the Ministry of Health./.
