14-year-old artist wins 'golden voice' award

(Baonghean.vn) - Little girl Pham Thi Phuong (14 years old) in hamlet 15, Tru Son commune (Do Luong) is known by everyone not only as a good student, but also as a famous "child" folk singer.

Phuong's family has a tradition of loving the arts. Her mother and brother have good voices, especially singing folk songs. Phuong has loved and known how to sing folk songs since she was in kindergarten. At the age of 5, she performed folk songs on stage and won first prize in a performance competition in the commune. At the age of 8, while in grade 3, she won third prize in a performance competition in the district.

In addition to learning from her mother and teachers, Phuong also learns to sing via the internet. In her free time, Phuong often uses her phone to play folk songs performed by famous artists such as Hong Luu and Tien Dung, to learn how to breathe, pronounce words, pause, and sing with vibrato. This past summer, Phuong participated in a folk singing training class for talented children in the province, led by People's Artist Hong Luu.

Phuong is passionate and enjoys singing folk songs anytime, anywhere.

Although young, Phuong is often invited by individuals and organizations in the commune and district to participate in cultural programs.

Over the years, Phuong has participated in many competitions, folk performances, and folk festivals in localities inside and outside the province, including the capital Hanoi. She has won many achievements such as: "Promising Voice" award in the "I love the folk song singing" contest in the district, A prize in the Sen village singing festival in the district; First prize in the Law Propaganda contest of the Political Department, Military Region 4, "Golden Voice" award in the Nghe An province's Vi Dam folk song festival in 2016, cluster 2 held in Anh Son district...

Not only does Phuong sing well, she is also a good student. Over the past 7 years, she has continuously achieved the title of excellent student. Currently, Phuong is studying in class 8A at Tru Son Secondary School. When asked why she has to perform a lot but still studies well, Phuong shared: "I always prioritize studying culture first, not letting singing folk songs overshadow my studies."

Ms. Thai Thi Chau, homeroom teacher of class 8A, said: “Phuong is a diligent, studious student, enthusiastic about collective movements, especially the arts movement. Phuong is in charge of all the class’s arts programs. Although she is passionate about singing, she still ensures her studies.”

Every day, Phuong often helps her mother with housework.

Little girl Phuong Linh (the nickname that MCs often call Phuong during performances) has bright eyes, loves singing, loves literature, and says that she will try to study well to pass the entrance exam to an art school in the future.
